America’s Gun Violence Epidemic with Saadia Mirza

Listen Later

Saadia Mirza joins us from Texas to break down the insanity of America’s gun violence epidemic. Our discussion takes place in the aftermath of the Uvalde school shooting, at a time when there are too many mass shootings in America for the media to cover. Saadia shares how her connection to a victim of the Sandy Hook massacre led her to become incredibly outspoken about this ongoing American nightmare. She completely dismantles common myths pertaining to guns, including the myth that the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. In addition, she explains the enormous human and financial cost of gun violence in America.

Tune in to hear us discuss how the NRA, gun manufacturers, and the republican party have distorted the gun debate, pitting Americans against one another to amass wealth and power.
