  • 11 - All the Queen’s Corgis
This week, as the world recovers from the recent barrage of royal news, join Katelyn and Jenna as they discuss two of their favorite things: royals and dogs!
Katelyn starts by taking us back to the time of Henry VIII, when greyhounds were the palace’s pups of choice, and goes through the history of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, from the kings from whom the breed gets its name, to Queen Victoria’s best friend, Dash. Jenna reviews the dogs that followed, including the Queen’s brood of Corgis and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor’s pugs. P.S. Apologies to pug lovers out there--We know it’s not the dogs’ fault they can’t breathe!
At the top of the show, we go over some recent appearances from Charles, William, and Harry, talk about Kate’s latest (sort-of) public appearance, and analyze another piece of compelling evidence that Meghan and Harry are headed for the altar!

  • 10 - Cambridge Party of Five and Meghan Meets World
Our favorite family made up for a quiet August with two of the biggest royal news stories so far this year: Kate is expecting and Meghan Markle is Vanity Fair’s October cover girl!
In our episode, “Cambridge Party of Five and Meghan Meets World,” we revel in both glorious developments!
Kate’s pregnancy was no shock to expert sleuth Jenna who spotted quite a few clues this summer that could only mean Will and Kate wanted to expand their family. Katelyn’s plans for scheming her way into the royal family are revealed and foiled. We hope Kate is resting up while recovering from the acute morning sickness we can’t pronounce.
Our excitement continues its ascent as we discuss Meghan’s Vanity Fair cover and how this interview is the biggest hint that we may hear wedding bells within the next year!
After a rough intro where Katelyn forgets how to Podcast, we review William, Kate, and Harry’s final appearance to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, a landmark royal privacy court ruling, Prince George’s first day of school, and Will and Harry’s support for Grenfell Tower survivors.

  • 09 - Princess Diana and the Press
This week, to mark the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, Katelyn and Jenna examine the complex relationship between the Princess and the press.
When Lady Diana Spencer married Prince Charles, the royal family expected that the media frenzy surrounding the new Princess would soon subside. But as time went on, heirs were born, and the relationship fell apart, the press’s scrutiny seemed only to intensify, and ultimately, the thirst for a scoop on the Princess of Wales played a role in her untimely death. But Diana had also learned to use the media to her advantage, exploiting the public’s interest in her to frame the narrative of her divorce and her post-Charles life. In this episode, we look at some notable interactions between Princess Diana and the press to better understand how she wielded this double-edged sword.
In our royals news segment, we discuss the new reports of Meghan and Harry’s vacation, prepare for Prince George’s first day of school, and talk about more anniversary happenings.

  • 08 - The Prince & Me & Us
Join Jenna and Katelyn as they discuss one of the most important films in the commoner-to-princess canon, “The Prince & Me.” Your hosts are pretty sure they saw this movie together in theaters back in 2004, but how does it hold up? What can Meghan and Harry learn from Paige Morgan’s whirlwind romance with Prince Edvard? Are meat slicers sexy?! Stacks!
This marks the first episode in our series, “Formative Princesses of Film,” where we will take a closer look at the non-animated princess movies of our youth.
As for the news, we cover Wills and Harry’s rumored cameo in the next Star Wars episode, talk about recent royals sightings in Scotland, discuss how Kate’s milliner Jane Corbett is hanging up her hat, scrutinize an upcoming cake auction, and go over Meghan’s list of women who influenced her. We also respond to our first listener email, so listen in if you want our recommendations for some of our favorite royal biographies, as well as our tips for figuring out if a book will be worth your time!

  • 07 - Our Ode to Anne
On this week’s episode, we wish a very happy birthday to the Princess Royal! To celebrate Princess Anne’s 67th birthday, Jenna and Katelyn look at the unique path Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter managed to cut for herself on her road to becoming a thoroughly modern princess.
In this episode, you will hear what Katelyn learned about Anne’s early life from the classic 1974 biography, “Princess Anne: A Royal Girl of Our Time,” and learn what Jenna knows about Anne’s equestrian accomplishments. We also provide in-depth coverage of her 1973 royal wedding and her 1992 remarriage before we circle back to discuss what must have been one of the more terrifying events in Anne’s life--the attempt to kidnap her outside Buckingham Palace.
At the top of the show, we briefly touch on Season 2 of The Crown before we jump to a discussion of Meghan’s birthday trip to Africa! We dissect the rumors that they took their royal romance to the next level, hear what Harry’s cousin-in-law has to say about Meghan, and weigh in on press speculation about what family heirloom Harry may have chosen for a proposal. Last but not least, Katelyn reacts to one very interesting/horrifying journalistic take on the couple’s future.

  • 06 - Diana’s Life and Legacy
Tune in to hear Katelyn and Jenna discuss the recent documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, starring none other than her sons, Princes William and Harry. We laughed, we cried, and Jenna almost flipped her coffee table over.
We begin the episode by reflecting on how our perceptions of Diana have changed over time, from our early memories of her as a beautiful princess, to our current understanding of her as someone whose stunning physical beauty was exceeded by her profound drive to help others.
Later, we turn to the film, discussing our favorite parts, including the Princes’ piercing blue eyes, adorable family photos, and allusions to Harry and Meghan (and their future children?!), as well as the scenes that made us verklempt.
In addition, we talk about how the documentary depicts the Princess’s charity work and her sons’ efforts to carry on her legacy, as well the film’s cast of characters and its approach to the less glamorous aspects of Diana’s life.
In our royal news round-up, we swoon over Harry’s latest philanthropy; admire the very good dogs who came to meet Camilla; follow William, Kate, and Charles’s trip to Belgium for the centenary of the Battle of Passchendale; assess some royal staffing changes; tip our hats to Philip’s spiffy bowler; get indignant over Meghan’s press coverage; and review rumors about the Queen’s supposed love of a tipple (or four!).

  • 05 - Soft Pretzel Diplomacy
This episode, Jenna and Katelyn review the royal family’s attempt to soften the Brexit breakup with a visit that was the diplomatic equivalent of “I hope we can still be friends.”
Jenna takes us through Poland, exploring Warsaw, Gdansk, and her (wrong) conspiracy theory, touching on the frivolous (clothes! booze!) and the somber (the visits to the Warsaw Rising Museum and Stutthof Concentration Camp). Katelyn covers the German leg of the trip, including a chat with the Chancellor in Berlin, another boating rematch in Heidelberg, and the royal fab four’s departure from Hamburg.
At the top of the show, we discuss la visita real, two hot Harrys, Kate’s Wimbledon wardrobe, George’s birthday, William’s final day as a pilot, the Queen scolding a horse, and the recent silence on the Meghan front, and Katelyn submits her résumé for a coveted position with the Cambridges.

  • 04 - A Very Special Relationship
On this week’s episode, Jenna and Katelyn (belatedly) celebrate the Fourth of July with a look at how the relationship between British royalty and U.S. presidents has evolved since we Yanks said “No, thanks,” to King George III.
Join us as we wander through the hedge-maze of time to investigate how “the Tyrant King George” was a scapegoat, Queen Victoria (possibly) hated Ulysses S. Grant, Edward VII partied in the U.S.A., and George V and George VI appealed to their American allies. We also discuss Queen Elizabeth’s longevity and its impact on the “special relationship,” three of Charles’s most important trips across the pond, the royals fever that has sprung up both times Will and Kate have stopped in the States, and Harry’s scandalous Las Vegas vacation.
At the top of the episode, as usual, we look at recent royals news, including Kate’s latest sartorial choices, the Queen’s home renovations, and an amazing Daily Mail article about Harry and Meghan’s rosé romance.

  • 03 - A Colourful Family Reunion
The Royal Family is back for the Trooping of the Colour, where we are reminded that Kate, Wills and Harry are not the only members of the firm.
Before diving straight into the Trooping we discuss the royal families response to the London terror attacks and Grenfell Tower fire, Meghan Markle's awkward Suits press call and what we can expect from the Cambridge's upcoming Royal Tour of Poland and Germany, Hopefully lots of pretzels.
Sharing the history of the Trooping, the official celebration of the monarch's birthday is our first mission followed by our examination of Kate's unexpected pop of color and we wonder: Did Harry do a disappearing act on the balcony?

  • 02 - Meghan Markle Movie Mavens
This week, Katelyn and Jenna look at Meghan Markle's foray into the realm of television films to see how her experiences with the Hallmark crown prepared her to don a tiara of her own.
After a brief rundown of royals news, including male-model Wills, Harry and Barry, and the Queen watching "The Crown," Kate and Jenna take a deep dive into "The Dater's Handbook" and "When Sparks Fly" to see what they can learn about Meghan and her royal readiness!
