Rainbow Blak pays tribute to her Aunty Shabulla Foluke who recently passed and her debut on Birmingham, UK radio where she discusses her concerns about what has happened to the UK Black Community.  The interview sees her share some of her social observations of how the Black Community and the sense of togetherness has been broken down overtime.   Some of the contributing factors are candidly discussed with other prominent members of the community who share similar values that community is everything but now that ideas seems to be disappearing.  The panel discuss how they remember communities being tightly woven, connected and looking out for each others children was an unspoken code.

They talk about how we get back to grass roots community cohesion. She also covers the relationship between parents and their children being an area that needs much care and attention.  Parents share some of their fears of losing their children to the streets and feeling unable to challenge some of the behaviours that are contributing to the demise of the family and society. When did parents start fearing their own children and how can  we pulled this back so boundaries/respect become the social norm once again?

Co-parenting when relationships breakdown , fathers still have an active role but can more be done to support mothers or ex-partners.  So many subjects covered that are currently affecting the Black community oh yes and that controversial government campaign to conquer knife crime "Chicken Box Gate" an insult or an solution you decide.  Tune in and give me your views.

Rainbow Blak is back after taking some time out due to a family bereavement.  This episode sees her celebrate the amazing achievements of her late Aunty Shabulla Foluke.  So this is a tribute episode in her memory and much more.  This episode not only explores the amazing life of Rainbow Blak's aunty but she also takes you through what actually happens when you experience bereavement and some of the issues, thoughts and feelings that love ones are often left to ponder.  How keeping calm & carrying on is  easier said than done, when real life kicks back in.  How music can be a comfort but also strength and how the legacy or the  traits of that person can still be upheld in various different ways.  She also explores how when losing someone close, how you keep your memories alive and how that can be a great source of comfort.  In keeping with her Aunty's zest and passion for community, social inclusion and family she also discusses whats getting in the way of people and families connecting and just how connected is social media & digital aids really making us in 2019, if we are honest. Just how we do we maintain the family structure after the family member who glues everyone together passes ? The strength of the Black women in families is always a reliable source but does that responsibility now need to be evenly spread for todays current climate.  

Rainbow Blak also goes deep on how relationships on all levels are being affected in society by lack of communication and how to deescalate situations with people and let go of things that don't serve you.  Recognising your purpose in your own life journey and what people need in order to grow has a society - Maslow she switches it up and debates why Wifi is now one of the hierarchy of needs. 

Its all a conversation and one that my Aunt would surely have if she was still here. So in her honour l dedicate this entire episode to my Aunty Empress Shabulla Foluke gone but never forgotten. Rest In Paradise 💥🙏🏾 Selah 🦁

Talking of festivals lets talk about Pride season /month which Pride's are going to stay with us and why UK Black Pride/NY Pride & London Pride.  But deeper than that why are straight people taking over Gay Pride. Are corporate companies just hopping on the Rainbow money train and forgetting the deeper message of what Pride history is about has we are still bearing witness to trans men/women being murdered almost weekly in the U.S and other countries.  50 years of Queer revolt was the thread which ran through all Pride celebrations this year but has demonstrated by some homophobes online even the likes of artists Lil Nas weren't safe from homophobia when he decided to come out during Pride month.  Rainbow Blak serves the tea nice and hot on this segment.

Rainbow Blak talks about that cute moment at Glastonbury when man like Alex did a link up on stage and spat some of UK Grime Artist Santan Dave's bars to Thiga Silva and we all went mad however a backlash was to follow and Rainbow Blak breaks down how whats good for the goose aint always good for the gander.  The truth the true hypocrisy of British Media towards Black artists exposed thanks to Alex & Piers Morgan.  Listen closely.
