Episode 110 is the final episode of Amplify Korea hosted by myself, Philip Brett. Due to time commitments at work, it's the end of a run of 4 years of shows. Given this is episode 110 you can probably tell it's not been the most consistent of runs over those 4 years, with a number of changes since it started out as the Angle Magazine Podcast, changing to AMP, and finally settling on Amplify Korea. It's not all sad news though, with the awesome Michael Keogh taking over hosting duties, and bringing new energy and fresh ideas to the podcast starting from the next episode.

Episode 109 is a mix of Christmas music old and new. It's the last episode of the year before a break for the holidays.
Episode 108 has new music from acts in Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, and Seoul. There's news on albums JuliaDream and 1/N, along with EP releases by Gwangju's 9Dreamer, Busan's Cloudian, and Seoul's Pago and KOHO de Seúl. Both 88 and Tengger feature on new compilation albums, while UZA, Cat Psalm, and Universe Mongae have a new collaboration out.
The last few weeks have been a struggle to keep the podcast running to schedule, and I've had no time to follow up on new episodes of Amplify Extra. With winter holidays coming up, I hope to get back on track and have everything running smoothly by the new year.
Continuing the catch up on new releases over the last month or two, episode 107 has new singles from Rappelkopf, On The Green, 초개, and more. There's also news on compilation album We Do It Together, an EP from Hoksimolla, and new albums by Busan's nu-death metal band Traitor, Shirts Boy Frank, and H a lot.
Episode 106 of Amplify Korea is a catch up on music released over the last month or so. After one month without a working internet connection, there's a lot of music to delve through, with a whole bunch of new releases from all over the country. From Busan there are first releases by Notsun Muhwagwa and Hathaw9y. Jeju singer-songwriter E So returns with a new single, while Seoul's DTSQ released their much anticipated second album, Moon Juice and Space Biscuits. Also out of Seoul, there's new music from Oh Hee Jung, Laybricks, Fog, Cotoba, Ahn Dayoung, and Uza & Shane, while Changwon based mcthfg released album Immigrant Songs celebrating 11 years of life in Korea.
Episode 105 has new music from Balloonfish, DTSQ, Moonsomoon, and more. There's also a preview of Zandari Festival which is taking place online this weekend. And if that's not enough for you, there's news on more live shows around the country, including Tierpark in Seoul, Leaves Black in Busan, and T Festa in Tongyeong which runs from October 21st until the 25th.
Amplify Extra is a new addition to the Amplify Korea podcast, available to supporters of the Angle Magazine Patreon account. This one is going out free to all as it’s the first episode. I talked with Jiwon and Jina of Billy Carter about their set for Soumbalgwang’s album release show, and some of their favorite music right now. Their new album Don’t Push Me is out now on Electric Muse.
Episode 104 has new music from Galaxy Express, Roots Redeem, Electric Planet Five, and more. There's also news on live shows by Soumbalgwang, Dongyang Gozupa, Gong Joong Geu Neul and 5but. Supporters of the Angle Magazine Patreon can also get exclusive access to a short interview with Billy Carter ahead of their show in Busan on Saturday night.
Episode 103 is a short one, with a handful of new releases to share. As the numbers are still relatively high in Korea, I'm not comfortable sharing news on live shows just yet, though there are some going on if you are inclined to search them out. There's a new "sad dance" album from Kim Il Du, along with new releases from Xeuda.sun, Park Jong Beom, Curvy, and more.
Episode 102 of Amplify Korea has 10 new releases to share from acts in Busan, Daegu, and Seoul. There are new albums from Soumbalgwang and Billy Carter. Both releases are stuffed full of great tracks, I couldn't choose just one for the show this week. You can also hear a demo from The Plums, who were one of 8 Daegu acts featured on Bandcamp Daily in a piece written by Genius bass player Steve Chang.
