The house is quiet tonight.
Outside, October is doing what it does. Leaves letting go. The air turning cool. The light leaving a little earlier than it did last week.
Inside, a lamp is on. There is nowhere you need to be.
In this sleep story, we move slowly through a house in autumn and let the evening settle around us.
Ten minutes of gentle narration to help you rest.
Welcome to Season Two of Quiet Hours.

Today did not go the way you meant it to. The list is still on the counter with the same four things on it.
The Night You Got Nothing Done is a slow, narrated evening for the days that slipped. One cup washed. The phone left face down downstairs. The stairs, warm water, and the quiet of a dark house, with the list waiting until morning.
Told in twelve short spoken parts with soft music underneath. Nothing to fix and nothing to catch up on. You are allowed to stop.

The heating came on by itself tonight for the first time since March.
The First Cold Night is a slow, narrated evening in a house as the season turns. The heavy blanket out of the closet. The window closed until spring. The first hot water bottle of the year, the duvet with April's fold lines still in it, and the heating ticking on after midnight.
Told in twelve short spoken parts with soft music underneath. Nothing to prepare for and nothing to complete. Listen until you are warm enough to sleep.

Sunday, a bit after eight. The television has been on for an hour and no one has been watching it.
The Sunday Evening is a slow, narrated walk through a house as the weekend closes. The cup washed. Tomorrow's clothes over the back of a chair. The door checked once. Then upstairs, the lamp off, the house settling, and Monday still a long way off.
Told in twelve short spoken parts with soft music underneath. No plan for the week and nothing to complete. Listen until you drift off.

It has been raining since about two and it has not let up once.
A slow, spoken walk through a house on a wet evening. The kettle on. The lamp in the corner. A short walk through the rooms, then upstairs where the rain is louder on the roof.
Nobody is coming over. You are not going out. The weather made the decision and all you had to do was agree with it.
Narrated in eight short parts with rain and quiet music in between, so you can drift off whenever you are ready.
Best with the lights low.

Nine o'clock. The day is finished, whether or not it is done.
A slow walk through a house at the end of an evening. The kettle back in its corner. One plate rinsed. A blanket over the arm of the sofa. A door checked once, not twice.
Nothing here is instruction. No breathing exercises, no counting, nothing to complete. The voice describes a house being put to bed, and then it stops and leaves you with the room.
Made for the hour when you are tired, the list is unfinished, and it is going to stay that way until morning.
The narration ends around fourteen minutes. The remaining forty five are music, getting quieter. It is fine to be asleep before then.
Best with the lights low.
New episodes weekly.
