In this episode we'll begin to look at the theological framework of Anglican faith and life, the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion. We begin with Article 1: Of Faith in the Holy Trinity, and Article 2: Of the Word or Son of God, which was made very Man.

On this episode we'll listen to a sermon on John 3.7-8 and the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus. This message is based on the hope and promise of salvation from John 3.16: God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
And unlike Nicodemus, who was desperately trying to understand how to enter the kingdom of God, and struggling to figure it out, we don't have to figure it out. All we have to do is simply believe! The apostle Paul wrote that if we confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from dead, we will be saved.
In part two of this interview we pick up the conversation between Jennifer Webster, Dean of the Lay School of Theology and Director of the Charles Simeon Institute, Rev. Dr. Michael Petty, and Rev. Dr. Jeff Trostle as they discuss the significance of theological study for Christians.

In this episode I'll talk about the true cost of discipleship and the significance of the commitment we make to God to be disciples of Jesus Christ. I'll focus on Luke 14:26, 27, and 33 which deals with a larger context of that commitment and compare what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called cheap grace with costly grace.
