Dave Sim and Matt Dow RETURN for the First Please Hold For Dave Sim of 2021! Dave starts answering reader questions around the 41 minute mark. The whole thing is over three hours long. ENJOY!
Dave Sim and http://momentofcerebus.blogspot.com/'s Matt Dow ONCE AGAIN, do their monthly phone call. This time they begin by finishing the discussion of Dave's list of significant events from his life that was listed in his notebook used to produce Reads. Then two more questions from http://www.cerebusfangirl.com/ Margaret Liss. Then more questions from: Michael R (of Easton Pennsylvania), Jeff Seiler, Bryon, and I feel there was one more...
WITH: a special surprise guest appearance from Jeff Seiler, since technology is amazing and Matt got it to work.
AND: also with Dave paraphrasing Jeff's question since Matt's too lazy to edit that bit out...
The November 2020 Please Hold For Dave Sim.
Interim Editor of A Moment of Cerebus (http://momentofcerebus.blogspot.com/) Matt Dow is once again joined in conversation by Dave Sim, creator of Cerebus.
This month Dave discusses: Time (the recording starts in the middle of this. Basically Dave called Matt too early because Dave's clocks aren't all set right.), renovations to The Off-White House, the Remastered Spawn #10 Kickstarter (COIMING SOON!), Why Cerebus ran for 26 years, Unauthorized Cerebus pewter miniatures from Citadel, What one piece of Art Dave would like to own (and why), Matt Wagner and Diana Schutz, the Song of Amergin and Mothers & Daughters, Why so many editions of High Society, and Cerebus Fandom.
And a totally healthy and serious discussion of Batvark: PENIS...
Wilf Jenkins was the Aardvark/Vanaheim lawyer for years (1982-2014), and during that time he was on the comp list. Wilf saved all his copies. Dave and Wilf have signed them, and there's a certificate of authenticity. The books will be available from Looking For Heroes, for $10 (CAD) plus $4 dollars shipping to Canada and $5 dollars shipping to the USA. All the money goes to the Food Bank of the Waterloo Region.
To help promote the sale, Mr. Jenkins has recorded a Please Hold podcast with Matt Dow, the Interim Editor of A Moment of Cerebus. Wilf answers questions that Matt had previously sent him.
By POPULAR demand*: The SECOND Please Hold For Dave Sim from December of 2018.
Wherein Dave Sim and Matt Dow discuss... It was almost two years ago. I don't remember...(Comics?)
By POPULAR demand*: Here's the audio of the first ever Please Hold For Dave Sim from November 2018, wherein Dave Sim reminisces on the passing of Stan Lee.
So, here in all it's TWO HOUR PLUS glory is the September 2020 Please Hold For Dave Sim. Normally when Dave Sim calls A Moment of Cerebus' Matt Dow, it gets broken up into many many videos on the Youtubes. But this month Matt managed to get it to work as a podcast, do here you go. Dave reads the questions he's answering, so I don't need to write them out here, right?
(These will still end up as videos, for you guys who need to see them that way...)
Welcome to the first Please Hold For Dave Sim podcast. (Which has historically been posted as videos on the YouTube.) Unfortunately, the two fifty-five minute segments I recorded with Dave Sim are just blank audio files (literally, the waveform when I try to edit them is just a flat line...) so all that exists are these two clips.
In the first, Dave is talking about Batvark:PENIS, and the "Censored for Grandma" variant: Batvark:XXXXX. And which is rarer. (Dave had told me that PENIS was going to be the rarer version, but that was based on preliminary order data, and is no longer true.)
The second bit is from the end of the call, right before we hung up.
NEXT month I'll have the whole thing figured out and it'll go off without a hitch...
