‘An Authentic Life’ is an approachable guide to the imperfect journey of self-empowerment, holistic health and genuine happiness with nutritional medicine practitioner, Miranda Partridge. The aim is to learn more about ourselves, challenge our limiting beliefs and foster unconditional self-love, with curiosity, experimentation, and a dash of dork.
In this podcast, I share a lot about my own journey toward my most authentic life, as well as my expertise as a nutritional medicine practitioner. But I want to interview people that inspire me, to learn how they embody their authenticity in whatever it is they do. I really believe we need to hear that living the life we love is not without its hardships, but no matter what we’ve been through, we can always come out the other side if we put in the work.
In this episode I interview Lead Coach and owner of The Empire Bodyshop, Emma Cobb. Emma is the Owner & Lead Coach of The Empire Bodyshop, an Industry-leading Private Health & Fitness Studio based in Logan, Brisbane. A mum of a home-birthed 4 year old boy, wife to her soulmate & sister to all, her take on life is varied & dynamic. Quoted as being a little bit hood, a little bit hippy & a total nerd at heart, Em works with Real Humans on Real Journeys to achieve Real Life Improvements for the Long-haul.
The 'Empire Way' is a philosophy lived & breathed by Em, her amazing team & incredible Clients - it is about People First, over & above profit. This culture has seen the exponential growth of The Empire Bodyshop, an authenticity that is missing in such a saturated Fitness market of fad riddled exercise & diet protocols. The most important goal for The Empire Bodyshop is to leave a legacy & a mark in the world that made a positive impact, even if only small.
In this podcast, we cover:
Emma's journey from the transport and logistics industry to personal training and The Empire Bodyshop "Home of the Brave" (and a little story about a horse named 'Moontide')
Emma's passion for improving the mental health of all people, and her own journey with mental illness
The Empire Bodyshop's 'I Am You' Project
The intentional community that Emma has created within her gym
Why Emma doesn't want The Empire Bodyshop to be "just another gym" - “panel beaters for your soul”
The modality of ZUU - what it is and how it fits into Emma's fitness philosophy of pain-free movement, mobility and injury prevention
Taking ownership of your decisions, your health and your life
The simple steps you can take to improve your health for the long haul (and your posture)
How Emma balances being a Mum with owning and running The Empire Bodyshop
Learning from your anger triggers, owning how you choose to behave and healing your traumaShow notes available at www.mirandaswellness.com.au/podcast/2
