The Mormon church teaches nothing but shame around sex. This leads to harmful ideologies and dangerously incorrect information.

Though the title of this episode sounds a lot dirtier than it actually is, it deserves an explicit content warning as Kate and Erika talk about sex, baby. 

The Two NoMos discuss the harm caused by purity culture, aka the law of chastity, as taught in the Mormon church. They're joined by an amazing local group of women who were also negatively affected by the church's shame on sex. 

It all comes down to money and power.

In this episode, Kate and Erika sit down with poet Kaitlin Shetler to discuss the similarities and differences between the church of Christ and the Mormon church.

General Conference has been described as, "Receiving a slap and then a kiss." 

For many years, Kate was made to attend "General Conference," a large gathering of Mormons that happens twice a year.

Over this weekend, members are told they are worthless and that they need the Mormon church to make them whole, all while being bombarded with messaging that this is a wonderful, holy, sacred experience. This results in significant cognitive dissonance that is palpable and registers on attendees' faces.

There have also been numerous controversial talks at these conferences over the years. In this episode, Kate and Erika break it all down. Over cocktails. Of course.
