This episode features Irish born performance practitioner, Ian McKeown.  Ian is currently the Head of High Performance at Port Adelaide FC. Ian is heading into his 8th season in the AFL at Port Adelaide. Previous to coming to Australia he worked as a strength and conditioning coach for the Sports Institute for Northern Ireland. He headed to Australia in 2009 to coach at the Australian Institute of Sport and to complete his Ph.D. His areas of interest in research include the assessment of athletic development and movement ability and epitomize Ian’s passion for coaching and ensuring the rigor of performance science is utilized within daily practices to improve athleticism and on-field performance.
