Systematic Geekology

Our show focuses around our favorite fandoms that we discuss from a Christian perspective. We do not try to put Jesus into all our favorite stories, but rather we try to ask the questions the IPs are asking, then addressing those questions from our perspective. Friendship and companionship give purpose to labor and sustain people in work and grief. We discuss why we have missed a few weeks of the podcast, and we catch back up with Will Rose on how his Sabbatical went! Pastor Will draws on Ecclesiastes to argue that two are better than one and that friendship enriches vocation and productivity. He describes his sabbatical, its rest and reflection, and the way discernment guides where he spends his energy. Joshua Noel and TJ Blackwell probe practical church logistics, volunteer roles, and the unseen work that keeps worship and community life functioning. Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, I sit down to fulfill one of my challenges. I had to play Tubi Roulette and it landed on 1975s The Killer Elite starring James Caan. The house didn't really win or lose this time, more like broke even. The Killer Elite has a stacked cast that also includes the likes of Robert Duvall, Mako, and Burt Young, and features a great character arc for James Caan's character, but man do I have a hard time with slowburn 70s action.

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are headed back to the Arcade this time with my review of 2009s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li starring Kristin Kruek. For the first time here I on the show I get to say, I watched this so you don't have to. It's not the worst movie in the world, rather it is a film that exists. Will it make an impact on the upcoming reboot? Probably not. Is it as fun to watch as the 1994 film? No., but it does have a fun cast.

Kevin and Christian dig into how Martha and Jonathan Kent basically built Superman’s moral GPS, arguing the Kents are the real force behind who Clark becomes.
