Is your weapon of choice the Flying Guillotine?

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. In today's episode, I review our first movie for the show, Master of the Flying Guillotine, starring Jimmy Wang Yu as The One-Armed Boxer. In this review, I walk you through the high-points of the film, highlighting the creativity of The One-Armed Boxer as he goes toe-to-toe with various opponenets including the Blind Assassin weilding the Flying Guillotine, and I reflect on how being patient is an attribute that The One-Armed Boxer exemplifies well in the film.

Our show focuses around our favorite fandoms that we discuss from a Christian perspective. We do not try to put Jesus into all our favorite stories, but rather we try to ask the questions the IPs are asking, then addressing those questions from our perspective. We are not all ordained, but we are the Priests to the Geeks, in the sense that we try to serve as mediators between the cultures around our favorite fandoms and our faith communities.

The Church above preaches about an all-powerful and all-loving God but talks about Him with disinterest or even apathy! They speak of the incredible and miraculous, they speak of amazing news, but their worship services are filled with only melancholy and structure. They lack excitement whilst speaking of the most incredible and exciting news of all - JESUS SAVES!

.

This is the Underground Church and we believe the news of Jesus Christ saving and of the God of the Universe loving us to be worth getting wild and out about! We believe that we should shout for joy, scream praises to God, and to just get noisy in Church! Our churches should be filled with good song, conversations, and shouts of praise!

What is the meaning of "make a joyful noise"? What does the Bible say about a joyful noise? What is the joyful sound in the Bible? What does the Bible say about making noise? Why should we make a joyful noise to God? What is the prayer for Psalm 98? What is the meaning behind Psalm 98? What does the rivers clap their hands mean? What is the call to worship for Psalm 98?

.

In this episode, we will:

• Discuss the value in shouting for joy
• Deconstruct the liturgy of our churches
• Exegete Psalm 98
• Explore the importance of getting wild for God
• Meditate on the noises of nature

This episode is all about how to worship and focus on God through music during times of political polarization. When we are most tempted to be overcome with anxiety over political strife, can worship music help us focus on God instead? Joshua Noel, Taylor Clyde, and Matthew Winter review three songs that were put together through a collaboration of The Porter's Gate Collective and the After Party program. The After Party is a program to help Churches address our times of political anxiety today. The Porter's Gate Collective is a group of people from across Church denomination working together to create practical worship music for our times that can be sung by anyone across ecumenical grounds. The songs we review in this episode, by The Porter's Gate Collective, include: "The Kingdom of Jesus", "The Lord Will Have His Way", and "Bind Us Together".

.

What political party are Christians? What is the Christian attitude to politics? Are Christian Democrats left or right? What is Jesus' kingdom? What does Jesus say about the kingdom? What did Jesus mean the kingdom of God is within you? What the Bible verse says the Lord will make a way? What is the sovereign choice of God? Is God actually all-powerful? What is the meaning of Ecuminical? What does the Bible say about ecumenism? What does God say about Church unity? What are the benefits of unity in the church?

.

In this episode, we will:

• Explore the nature of worship music
• Deconstruct Christians' relation to politics
• Discuss doctrines of sovereignty, omnipotence, and missiology in politics
• Refocus on God in times of overwhelming political anxiety
