In faith community there are others to pray with and for you, and people who need you to be praying for them. Being devoted to prayer is hard, but if we are a community characterized by prayer we are not doing it alone.

And so we call this table a sacrament, not because the bread and the cup somehow magically confers grace to anyone who eats it, but because when we gather at this table, we proclaim Christ’s saving death until he comes again.
