David was not a good example of personal righteousness. He may have had some good moments, but his lows went pretty low. We’re talking about adultery and murder. How did this man deserve the title of “man after God’s heart”? As Pastor Marc will explain in today’s message, it wasn’t David’s ability to follow God’s law perfectly that set him apart. It was his humility and willingness to repent and trust God for salvation. You and I have our share of faults, but God desires a repentant heart, not a perfect one.

It’s heartbreaking to hear of yet another great Church leader getting caught up in sin. We’ve all experienced it multiple times. It draws the attention of believers and non-believers alike. It soils the reputation of the Church to those outside, as well as discouraging those of us who are part of this body. As Pastor Marc examines Jesus’ genealogy in today’s message, he’ll draw our attention to King David. We consider him a hero of our faith because of his humility, but he was far from perfect.

Jesus was born into humble circumstances. He wasn’t born in a castle or even a middle-class home. He was born in a barn to lower-class parents whose only qualifications were that they submitted themselves to God. They didn’t have wealth or position - in fact, they were looked down on by many. In today’s message, Pastor Marc will remind us that while we can’t be Christ, His death and resurrection have made it so we can be like Him - no matter what your background or position in society.

In your walk with Jesus, have you ever experienced hypocrisy? Have you ever found yourself judging others to the point of feeling disconnected from who you truly are? In today’s message, Pastor Marc wants you to know that no matter what you’ve done or how far you’ve fallen from your faith, God wants nothing more than for you to be in His Kingdom. There is nothing that you could ever do to separate yourself from His promise. Continue seeking after God and leave your sins behind.

All it takes is for you to simply believe in His free gift of grace and you’re saved. The world will always try to discourage you from believing in God’s power but the truth is, simply believe and you will experience the mighty presence of the Lord.
