You may have heard the saying " you're only as sick as your secrets." We've all made mistakes and hurt people and have also been deeply hurt by others and/or institutions. But when we cover up those wounds with a temporary band-aid fix or try to numb it, it just stays infected. When we do the necessary yet often painful work of cleaning them out we truly can begin to heal! So how do we do that?

In this episode we will continue to build on the principles and steps of Christian recovery. Principle 4 is where things can start to get a little hard for many, but also where the most healing happens! Before we can actually do the steps of openly examining and confessing our faults, we need to identify our support team, but who and how?

In episode 13 we discussed principal 1 of Celebrate recovery and identifying our struggles and stepping out of denial and then in episode 17 and 21 we looked at step 2 and shared how we are powerless in and of ourselves to stop the insanity when our lives feel out of control and unmanageable. In today’s episode we will dig into Principle three and honestly the foundation for true and lasting recovery which is turning our lives and wills over to Christ! So How do we do that?!

Sometimes we look at the person we said “I do” too and shake our heads and think “why did I marry them?” We could not be more different. We have nothing in common, maybe the appeal has worn off and now you are living in the nitty-gritty of everyday life, no longer trying to impress and pursue this person! How do we find the spark again? How do we use our differences to enhance our marriage instead of dividing us?
