What if the gifts God has given you are the very things you've been overlooking?
So many women spend their lives comparing themselves to others, wondering if they're doing enough or questioning what God is calling them to do next. But what if discovering your purpose isn't about becoming someone different? What if it's about recognizing who God created you to be?
In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa sits down with Jill Simons, founder of Many Parts Ministries, to explore charisms: the unique spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit to help us serve others and fulfill God's purpose for our lives.
Jill shares her personal journey of discovering charisms as a teenager, why we don't all need the same gifts, and how understanding our charisms can help us stop comparing ourselves to others and start embracing our unique calling.
Whether you're navigating a new season of life, wondering what God has planned for you, or simply wanting to understand your spiritual gifts, this conversation will encourage you to recognize that you have something valuable to offer.

What happens when a goal you were excited about starts to feel impossible?
A few weeks ago, I crossed the finish line of my first half marathon. But what most people didn't know was that just weeks earlier, I was seriously wondering whether I should give up on the goal altogether.
Life had happened. Training hadn't gone according to plan. I was far behind where I thought I should be.
Then a friend reminded me of something simple: the year isn't over yet.
In this 100th episode of Anchored with Purpose, I'm sharing the story of the goal I almost gave up on, the 1.5-mile run that helped me start again, and what crossing that finish line taught me about changing the plan without abandoning the goal.
Because sometimes you don't need to give up on the goal. You just need to change the plan.

Have you ever scrolled through Instagram looking for one health answer and suddenly found yourself wondering if you have high cortisol, a hormone imbalance, parasites, or five other things you had never worried about before?
There is so much noise in the health and wellness space, and it can leave us feeling like our bodies are another problem we need to solve.
In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa sits down with Dr. Brook Sheehan, chiropractor, functional medicine practitioner, and creator of Body OS, for an honest conversation about health overwhelm, listening to your body, and letting go of the pressure to constantly fix yourself.
Brook shares her own journey from feeling disconnected from her body to becoming hyper-focused on controlling her health, food, exercise, and environment. Eventually, she realized she needed to stop fighting her body and begin building a relationship with it.
Ready to Unplug? If you've been craving space to step away from the noise, reconnect with yourself, dream again, and make intentional plans for what comes next, I'd love to invite you to Unplugged: An Anchored with Purpose Retreat in the Adirondacks.

In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa is taking you somewhere special: Hilltop, a private, off-grid property tucked away in the Adirondack Mountains and the place that inspired her newest retreat, Unplugged.
But this episode is about more than a retreat.
It’s about what happens when we step outside of our normal routines. When the notifications stop. When we aren't looking at the laundry, thinking about dinner, answering another email, or scrolling through someone else's life.
It’s about creating enough space to ask:
How am I really doing?
What do I want?
What have I stopped dreaming about?
What matters in this season?
God, what are You inviting me into next?
Melissa reflects on her years in direct sales and how often that season brought women together around kitchen tables and in living rooms. There was laughter, food, conversation, friendship, and the kind of connection that is hard to recreate through a screen.
In a post-COVID world, technology has given us incredible ways to stay connected, but sometimes we still crave being in a room with other women and hearing someone say, “Me too.”
Melissa also shares why Hilltop is so personal to her. In the spring of 2023, during a season when she was beginning to dream again, she sat beside the pond with her planner, evaluated her life, prayed, and began writing down some of the dreams God was placing on her heart.
Now, she’s inviting a small group of women into that same space.
Unplugged will include time to evaluate your life, reconnect with your dreams, pray, make plans, enjoy good food, connect with other women, and simply be. There will also be intentional Unplugged Time to sit by the pond, journal on a porch, take a walk, connect with someone new, rest, or even enjoy an optional mini facial or back treatment.
And there’s one reminder Melissa hopes you take from this episode:
The year isn't over yet.
You don't have to wait until January to start dreaming, make a change, or think intentionally about what comes next.
Maybe you know exactly what you're dreaming about. Maybe you've stopped dreaming altogether. Or maybe you can't quite explain what you need. You just know you need some space.
Come sit by the pond. Drink coffee on the porch. Put your phone away. Dream. Pray. Connect. Make some plans.

What if you didn’t need to completely reinvent your life this fall?
In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa shares a simple exercise from her retail leadership days that she’s bringing into this new season: Start, Stop, Continue.
It’s a simple way to step back and ask what you want more of, what you’re ready to release, and what is already working that you want to protect.
Melissa shares her own Start, Stop, Continue list, from making more room for fun, paddleboarding, dancing, and working outside, to letting go of habits and streaks that once served her but eventually started feeling like obligations. She also talks about creating more space for family, giving her boys greater independence, protecting her morning time with God, and continuing to pursue the big dreams God has placed on her heart.

Have you ever been so good at something that you assumed it couldn’t possibly be valuable because it comes naturally to you?
Or spent so much time giving to everyone else that you barely recognize what’s left for you?
In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa sits down with author, coach, and former direct sales leader Amy Kemp for a powerful conversation about leadership, purpose, knowing your worth, and learning to recognize the gifts that may have been hiding in plain sight.
Amy shares how her years in direct sales helped her discover that she was a leader, and why learning her own leadership style changed everything. She and Melissa talk about identifying your “natural genius,” the things that feel easy to you but astonish everyone else, and why women often struggle to charge appropriately for the very things they do best.
They also dive into Amy’s book, I See You, including the beautiful story behind its title and the woman Amy wrote it for: the woman everyone sees, but few people truly see.
This conversation explores what happens when women give until there is nothing left, why Amy has a problem with the message behind The Giving Tree, and how small choices can help you begin finding yourself again.
Melissa and Amy also get vulnerable about money, knowing your value, outgrowing old identities, navigating criticism, pursuing new dreams, and the “border bullies” who often appear when you’re stepping into something new.
If you’ve been questioning your value, feeling depleted from giving too much, or sensing that you’re being called into a new season, this conversation is for you.

What if getting away from your everyday routine could help you discover that you're capable of more than you thought?
In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa Wilkinson shares stories from a very special family vacation to Puerto Rico, where three generations of her Puerto Rican family traveled together. From introducing her boys to their Puerto Rican heritage and experiencing Spanish Mass to exploring Old San Juan, trying new foods, and making memories together, this trip was about so much more than a beautiful destination.
Again and again, Melissa watched what happened when someone was willing to step outside of their comfort zone.
Her young niece and nephew discovered they could swim without the floaties and goggles they had depended on. Her boys experienced snorkeling for the first time. Melissa challenged herself to speak Spanish even when she knew it wouldn't be perfect. And during an unforgettable adventure through the Puerto Rican rainforest, three generations of the family climbed rocks, slid down a natural waterfall, swam through a cave, and faced fears together.
Through it all, Melissa discovered a powerful lesson about courage, confidence, limiting beliefs, and taking the next right step. Sometimes looking at the entire journey feels impossible. Instead of figuring out the next 20 steps, what if you simply asked, Where do I put my foot next?
Whether you're pursuing a God-given dream, considering a career change, facing a fear, trying something new, or simply feeling stuck in what's comfortable, this episode will encourage you to stop letting the story of what you "can't" do keep you from discovering what might be possible.

Have you ever looked at your life and thought, Everything is good, so why do I still feel like something is missing? That longing for more doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ungrateful or doing something wrong. It may actually be an invitation from God to go deeper.
In this episode of Anchored with Purpose, Melissa sits down with her mentor and Rebuilt Parish co-founder Tom Corcoran to talk about his new book with Fr. Michael White, Jesus, the Rich Young Man, and the Meaning of Life.
Tom shares how one Gospel passage kept showing up in his life and eventually inspired an entire book about the encounter between Jesus and the rich young man. Together, Melissa and Tom explore why we can have a full, successful life and still long for something more, and why that longing can actually be a good thing.
They talk about moving from the “shallow end” of faith into a deeper relationship with God, recognizing the things we’ve turned into idols, and trusting Jesus enough to let go of the comfort and control that can keep us from experiencing the life he has for us.
Melissa also shares a story from her own life about leaving a successful career to stay home with her children and how God continued to provide when she took that leap of faith. Tom reminds us that following God doesn’t always lead to a dramatic story. Sometimes the most heroic acts of faith happen quietly in our homes, families, careers, and everyday lives.
If you’ve been craving a deeper relationship with God but aren’t sure where to begin, this conversation will encourage you to pay attention to that longing, trust God with your next step, and create space to meet him in prayer.
