Perry and Shawna are joined by Andy Smith, Associate Professor of the New Testament at Cornerstone University and Lead Pastor at First Baptist church in Muskegon to continue the conversation this week about Messianic Prophecy. How the Old Testament screams for a rescuer to come and save us! We kick off with a conversation of the first prophecy of a coming rescuer—it happen right after Adam and Eve sin and plunge the world into sin and death—the first light shines of a coming redeemer in Gen. 3:15. Then we talk about how the Old Testament sacrifice system points to Jesus Christ the ultimate and final sacrifice for all sin for all time! Then we see in Exodus that the Passover was pointing to the ultimate Passover Lamb—whose blood sprinkled on our hearts rescues us from that same angel of death who passed over those ancient Israelites. Then we take a listener question: Can we trust the NIV translation of the bible or for that matter any of the translations? Professor Smith gives us good reasons to trust that the bible we have really is God’s word. Finally we ask the Prof: Why did Jesus have to be fully God and fully man? These best of moments are a click away!
