Every year near the end of December, it's always the same old story: A Christmas celebration! So, many among family and friends come together to celebrate with good food, plenty of gift-giving, and generally trying to put all their differences aside whilst everyone seeks to have a jolly good time. After all, it's the spirit and season of Christmas! C'mon, be joyful! Right? Well, it depends if one believes in the December 25th Christmas story.

But if you find yourself not at all enjoying getting dragged through surrounding Christmas celebrations and festivities at work and among friends and family, all the while muttering the words, "Bah Humbug! well then, you are part of a rather tired minority that simply wants to just run away and hide; but you know that you can't because most of the civilized world is surrounded by something much larger than any of us can even begin to imagine. It's a global December culture that defines Catholicism and Christianity and goes far beyond the characterization of 'Ol Saint Nick.

In this episode of Real Israel Talk Radio, Suzanne and I are going to take a close look into the global Christmas Tradition and find out what it's really all about. But more importantly, our goal is to learn to try to understand the people around us and to connect with them through Yehovah's uncompromising love. No, it's not an easy task for anyone but if we try to see the hearts and minds of a lost world of people aimlessly wandering through a spiritual desert wilderness and we try to see them in the way the Almighty Eternal One Yehovah sees them, we can learn love people with Yehovah's Truth despite their love and practices for worldly festivals that have their roots in everything pagan. On this episode of Real Israel Talk Radio we are going to continue with our look into Judaism's ceremony of the Kiddush, which is treated also like the blessing of the Challah. Both are New Testament/New Covenant traditions specifically Messianic deriving from the days of Yeshua in the historical period of the Second Temple. Today, they are identified with the Christian church idea of "communion" and/or "the Lord's Supper."

Matthew 26:28 records: "Then he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."  Our podcast will specifically take us into a definition of what is the Fruit of the Vine" and what is the "New Covenant" and why we need it. This will show us the biblical reason for the Kiddush and why it is connected to double-fruit prophecy of Isaiah 66:8, "Can a nation be born in a day." What exactly is this speaking about? The rebirth of the historical nation of Israel on May 14, 1948? No, not in the least.

We will also examine Matthew 23:39 when Yeshua said, "You will not see me again until you say...," taking a quote from Psalm 118:26. This will link us to Hosea 14:1-2, which is not about an animal offering but rather about the fruit of our lips, which connects us to Isaiah 29:13, about performing religious practices based on the traditions of man.

Our podcast will take us into why we need the New Covenant and the Isaiah 53 Suffering Servant; that without any of this, all of humanity has a zero chance of any hope for a future share in the Last Day resurrection and World to Come, which is a promise of the coming Messianic Kingdom of Heaven. We will also have a look into Psalm 139:14-15, which will give us a good foundation to help us to understand the importance as to why Yeshua did a New Covenant HaMotzi (Bread) and Kiddush (Wine) blessing in Matthew 26:26-28. In Judaism, this is a very old practice that is definitively linked to why we break a loaf of braided oven-baked bread and why the bread is called "Challah."

When we understand the Hebrew and Aramaic message that supports the biblical Son of Man teaching, it then gives us a wide-open door into an awesome understanding of the Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53:4-5. Armed with this knowledge, we will then chase down some additional lessons about why Yeshua had to fulfill Isaiah's prophecy for us because we could never be in any position to fulfill it ourselves based on Psalm 139:15 among other places. In preparation for our study into Challah and Kiddush, we will also have a close look into the various Hebrew words for a lump of bread dough (בצק) and the Hebrew word for bread (לחם), which also is related to the Hebrew words for "joining," "compassion," and "salt."

The dominant worldview that circulates amongst the general population is that if we can do enough good or to generally be good enough with the actions of our lives then we might have a succeeding chance of being judged favorably by God when we die and stand for his judgment. We might be in a good position to negotiate with God and to convince him that he can and should outweigh our bad actions with our good actions and thus, tip the scales of any possible negative decision that might come against us. However, it is not a teaching that is found in the written biblical lessons of the Bible. Nonetheless, Judaism does continue to teach that God is just going to show us mercy and compassion based on our record of merit and good deeds whilst the side of God's demand for justice is totally ignored.

On today's podcast for Real Israel Talk Radio, we will take a look into how one can acquire a topped-up merit account for the day of judgment. We will take a good look into who is actually doing good as its defined in the Bible. We'll answer the questions:

1. Is all of man or mankind in this world naturally or intrinsically good? I would say, No.
2. Is man or are we created in the image and likeness of God? I would say, No.
3. Before our yet-future day of judgment, is it possible to actually "top-up" a personal merit account in order to potentially outweigh our bad deeds with our good deeds? Can we then use our merit to buy our way out of a negative divine judgment and buy ourselves into an afterlife that will give us a share in a life of the World to Come?
4. And what about all the good that is done in the world? Is it truly good OR does it only look good on the outside but on the inside it's poison fruit?

When we talk about faith, religion, goodness, and an afterlife to various people in the world, it is wise to first try and understand a person's worldview; how one sees truth. How one defines good and even to ask the person that you are speaking with if, in fact, they believe in an afterlife or that this life is all that there is! This leads me to a number of questions.

1. Is all of man or mankind in this world naturally or intrinsically good? No, I think not.
2. Does man naturally possess a kind of goodness of soul even if it is not being currently accessed? I think yes, but from what kingdom "out there" does this good derive?
3. Before our yet-future judgment day, is it possible to actually "top-up" our personal merit account to potentially gain a bit more meritorious credit that can be used to buy our way out of a divine judgment and buy our way into an afterlife in the World to Come?
4. As for the Garden of Eden and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, did God plant that tree there? We will take a look at what the Hebrew text of Genesis 2:9 says. It just might surprise you!
