Has capitalism messed up healthcare?  Has capitalism been applied to healthcare?

When you see a human without seeing their vulnerabilities and suffering.  When you see a human without valuing their existence, the sanctity of life, then you are seeing them as an "other".  You are "othering" them.  If you want to belong, to feel connected to your own life, you must learn to see others as humans with vulnerabilities and value. 

Capitalism has been great at making wealth.  However, the rules for capitalism in America have not evolved to cause or even encourage the distribution of that wealth to humanity.  Not even the workers get their fair share of the wealth according to most people living in this country.  However, since the rules governing how wealth is distributed (minimum wages, benefits, union laws, capital gains tax, inheritance taxes, subsidies, etc. ) are set up by the rich, then we can expect them to push wealth inequality to greater levels, not less.  The backlash is that the youth of this country are increasingly voting for candidates that support ideas that many deem to be socialistic.

Do you have a favorite team that you call "your team?"   What makes it your team.  Why are you emotionally attached?  Are you attached to the story that it is your team, that if it does well you somehow do well too?

Have you heard the "Jesus Story"?  Yea, it is one of the oldest stories around.  But, like all stories, it is incomplete and inaccurate ..... just like all stories. 

Genesis Chapters 1 to 3.  What does the story of creation in the Bible tell you about men?  About women?

Are we inherently good or bad?  Does this go double for women?

How do you think this view of men affects children raised on this story and those that follow?

Humans relate to each other through their stories.  Understanding how we make our stories, how we emotionally attach to those stories, and how they impact our actions, is the first step in improving our lives by mastering our stories.  My life is better from understanding how I use stories in my life.  I have even learned to rewrite my stories, converting unhappy stories to happier ones.  Join me, let's talk about it.
