"He is risen!" After these unexpected words, come more: "Go tell the disciples…and Peter." For we are like Peter; we have forsaken our Lord and live in a world of estrangement, yet the gospel comes in full to us and Peter alike. The Lord forgives all, redeems our future as one of his disciples, and sends us to find our fellow Peters with the promise of God's hope and grace.
