And The Kick Is Good! episodes

  • Episode 67 - In Total Discord

What did ATKIG get you for Christmas this year? That's right, it's barely assembled Discord-recorded audio as Tom has returned to the motherland (Scotland) for the holidays and Brad had to hodge-podge this together!

It's a bumper week with a surprisingly full slate of games - COVID be damned! There's MVP talk for various non-QBs, there's questions about who won a specific DeAndre Hopkins trade and of course much bashing of all our favourite bad teams.

So grab your festive treat & drink of choice, sit by the fireplace and listen to Tom, just about, on the other end of a Discord call.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Episode 66 - Meyer-d in Controversy: An Urban Meyer Timeline

After 11 months and 14 weeks of 'football', it finally happened and Urban Meyer has been fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In perhaps one of the most tumultuous stints as an NFL Head Coach ever, with issues ranging from unhappy players, to 'loser staff' that he employed, to young Ohio women, there was a lot of controvery that happened in very little time with Urban Meyer so with that, consider this timeline Brad & Colum's piece de resistance on Urban Meyer and his Jacksonville Jaguars tenure.

We also cover off some of the news of the week including the untimely passing of Demaryius Thomas, COVID outbreaks, head coaches keeping their jobs for next & a very quick rundown of the Week 14 games.

  • Episode 65 - Roethlisberger Rumours, Lions Roaring and Week 13

Welcome back to another bumper episode of 'And The Kick Is Good!' fresh off the back of a Thanksgiving-palooza of games, we were treated to another bevy of great games across Week 13 - as well as big news!

With rumours of Roethlisberger being done in Pittsburgh coming out, we ruminate on his potential moves in 2022 as well as what it means to have him starting at QB.

Then there's also some feel good news as the Lions beat the Vikings in a barnburner and they rejoice after nearly a year without a win!

  • Episode 64 - The Takedown of the AFC North

With Thanksgiving out of the way we're approaching the business end of the season and that means it's time to really call out a few teams for what they are - especially the AFC North,

Tom had both his Steelers versus the Bengals (in a potential Shellacking of the Week) and the Browns versus the Ravens - but not without first covering his two loves of bashing the 49ers and the Vikings.

Colum picked three miserable games and Brad had a so-so mix of the AFC contenders coming to play, so it's a bumper episode for you all!

  • Episode 63 - Celebrate Good Times & Bad Offences

Copyright law? Never heard of it.

That's right, news of Jason Garrett's departure from the Giants broke Tuesday evening and thankfully Brad was doing an early edit ahead of the Thanksgiving games, so we get treated to a special guest  appearance from Kool & The Gang.

There's also a breakdown of every game from Week 11, with two shellackings, a few upsets here and there and offences on the verge of complete meltdown.

There's also an attempted 'What If?' that combines both pop culture and imagination, both huge challenges for Tom in the hot seat.

So come on in and listen to the good times!

  • Episode 62 - Contenders or Pretenders?

Welcome to the And The Kick Is Good podcast!

This week we recap Week 10 and break out just which teams are true contenders or mere pretenders along the way!

There's never been a time of such parity in the league with 12 AFC teams at .500 or above and games feeling like a coinflip every week, with supposed good teams struggling against supposed bad teams.

We've also got the OBJ news, Gruden updates and Packer Shareholder meetings to discuss!

  • Episode 61 - KA-Aron Rodgers, OBJ & the 49ers

You take one week off to celebrate a wedding, leave Colum to talk about the 49ers unfiltered and suddenly the league turns into an absolute mess.

There's the breakdown of Aaron Rodgers on the Pat McAfee show and the subsequent debut of Jordan Love, then there's the OBJ-Browns relationship finally breaking down and him getting released and Tom & Brad make sure to grill Colum about the state of the 49ers in the wake of Colt McCoy and James Conner shellacking them on Sunday.

It's a bumper episode with a ton to cover so just get into it!

  • Episode 60 - The Trade Deadline Threeway

Due to one of us becoming fortunate enough to find a life partner, we've had to split the pod into three parts this week.

Firstly Tom takes us through the week 8 games, commenting on niche special teamers and highlighting the play of guys that will likely be out of the league within the month.

Next Brad glances at the GM scene, and identifies which of the 32 currently employed could be destined to get the axe by the start of next season.

Finally Colum rambles on about the 49ers, and why Shanahan would get a longer leash than many would presume.

Normality (well, whatever that passes for) will resume next week.

  • Episode 59 - Hot Takes & The Game That Broke Brad

Bye-mageddon came for Week 7 and nobody could've predicted what was going to happen next.

In a week that was down six teams, including some of the more exciting teams, it meant that we got to really dive deep into some of the 'other than' teams including the capitulating Chiefs, the downfall of Darnold, the rise of the Bengals and backup quarterback play aplenty!

There's also a game in particular that absolutely breaks Brad into having a full on meltdown on behalf of a non-Giants team. Swearing a plenty, so you've been warned.

Note: we'll be on break from regular content next week as the team are attending Brad's wedding. Instead we'll have three 15 minute monologues on certain topics.
