In 2020, driven by a desire to forge genuine connections and break away from the conventional sales approach in the jewelry industry, Alexandria (“Ali”) founded A. D’Mae Diamonds. Operating beyond the conventional jeweler-client relationship, Alexandria engages one-on-one from her private office, whether in-person or virtually. This personalized approach allows her to provide expert guidance, resulting in the creation of timeless and personal jewelry pieces. By working directly with the best diamond and gemstone wholesalers in the world to hand-select each stone that goes into a piece of jewelry, Alexandria is able to provide a high-quality product at a price-point that beats the best luxury jewelry brands.

When Alexandria is not working with clients or designing jewelry, she is pursuing her lifelong dream of obtaining a Graduate Gemologist degree through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Her goal is to not only create beautiful and personal jewelry for her clients, but to help educate them, so they can ultimately make a decision that best suits them and their needs. 

Outside of the world of jewelry, Alexandria is a devoted cat-mom to two fabulous fur babies. She embraces fun and adventure through video games, rocking out at concerts (or even playing the drums herself), snowboarding, and traveling with her life-partner Aaron.

Sarah Stevens is a former healthcare executive turned writer, speaker, and  entrepreneur. Maggie chats all things skincare, social media, and the myth of aluminum-free deodorant with Educated Mess co-founder, Alex Padgett.

Alex Padgett is a cosmetic chemist and co-founder of the skincare line Educated Mess. She studied biology and chemistry in undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill and then went on to receive her masters in Cosmetic Science. She worked as a temp briefly at L'Oreal before moving to Texas to work as a formulation chemist at a contract manufacturer, developing personal care products for tons of brands. It was in that time that Alex started to see themes within the industry that she didn’t love, despite loving what she was doing every day. It was also in that time that she met Catherine, her now-business partner who helped her see that complaining about a problem is a lot less effective than doing something to contribute to its resolve. After a few White Claws and subsequent conversations, the idea for Educated Mess was born.
