There are times in our lives when we need to go after change, to be proactive. That is especially true in our spiritual life. God does not want us to become stagnant in our faith and in our relationship with Him, He always wants us to go deeper with Him. The process of sanctification is filled with small incremental changes that allow our minds and hearts to be transformed more and more into His likeness. To do so, we must decide to submit more fully to Christ by trusting Him and allowing Him to change us. After all, He is in the life-changing business. If your spirit has been stirred by God’s call to live a more faith-centered life, do not put off responding to His challenge of change.

We need to remember that God is sovereign, He is trustworthy, and He calls us to live in contentment with Him.

There are times when we may be called to step in and keep a bad situation from becoming worse. If we are to play a role in keeping a bad situation from turning worse, there will be a cost involved. It may cost us our time, our reputation, our money, or our status. But we must be willing to put everything on the line when it will bring glory to God and good to others. In Scripture, a woman named Abigail was a wonderful example of one who did this with the utmost grace, gentleness, and courage. Stepping into a conflict between David and her husband prevented a deadly disaster.

Racism is about making quick judgments and/or demonstrating partiality or bias to determine a race as inferior or superior. And Scripture makes it clear that it is a sin. It’s been referred to as the idolatry of blood and country. To assume one’s own race or nationality as superior to another, and to treat others with unfairness or unequal justice, is counter to our calling to spread the Gospel message. We need to remember that the ground is level at the foot of the cross where all people are equally loved.
