We are all born broken and blind. If we accept our condition, then Jesus can heal us and give us sight. If we reject this reality, we remain in our blindness. Do you know that, apart from Jesus, you are broken and blind?

Life is dangerous! How do we navigate the dangers of life without becoming emotionally overwhelmed, crushed, paralyzed by fear or anxiety? By learning, believing and living the reality of who Jesus is. He is stronger than all things seen and unseen, and He desires to deliver us.

Follow Me! That command from Jesus doesn’t apply only to the early disciples, but to each and every one of us, each and every day. To follow Jesus means that we relinquish control over our lives because we trust that His way is best.

Voices declaring we aren't enough is not a new thing. When the identity of believers in Colossae was being shaken, Paul pointed to a freedom not rooted in their performance but in their position in Christ. This freedom is still available today and is where abundant life is found.

We can have confidence in the midst of the unexpected because of the advent story. It shows us that God isn’t afraid of the unexpected, salvation has come in full a that he invites us to trust him. 

How do we resist the downstream tug of pride and the me-focused lifestyle, this Christmas season? Philippians 2:1-11 tells us: Humility is the way.

To the degree that we identify with Jesus Christ in this life, we will suffer. However, to the degree that we identify with Jesus Christ and share in His sufferings, we will also be rewarded now and forever. And God’s promised rewards never disappoint.
