While work is a good thing, our attention must remain on Jesus and his words rather than ourselves and our work. We always have more to receive from Him than we have to offer to Him.
Fasting is a gift from God to help us draw near to him. In this sermon we ask 4 questions: What is fasting? Why would I ever embrace fasting? What ruins fasting? and Where do I start?
Matthew 6:16-18
In Gospel of Luke 4:1–13, Jesus—the Second Adam—faces temptation at His weakest point, defeating our greatest enemy, Satan. Where Adam, Israel, and every one of us have failed, Jesus trusts God’s Word instead of bread, power, or safety from suffering. This isn’t just a model for resisting temptation, it’s the announcement that our Victorious Warrior has won in our place. Stop fighting alone, run to Christ, and stand in the strength of the One who conquered for you.
When we entrust our lives – now and forever – into the care of Jesus, we experience faith that conquers all fear. And we have hope that transcends all the sorrows of this broken world. Are you believing in Jesus for life today?
John 11
We can’t earn eternal life, but our loyalty to our Savior will be richly rewarded.
Matthew 19:16-30; Mark 10:17-31; Luke 18:18-30
We are all born broken and blind. If we accept our condition, then Jesus can heal us and give us sight. If we reject this reality, we remain in our blindness. Do you know that, apart from Jesus, you are broken and blind?
John 9
Life is dangerous! How do we navigate the dangers of life without becoming emotionally overwhelmed, crushed, paralyzed by fear or anxiety? By learning, believing and living the reality of who Jesus is. He is stronger than all things seen and unseen, and He desires to deliver us.
Mark 4:35 – 5:20
Follow Me! That command from Jesus doesn’t apply only to the early disciples, but to each and every one of us, each and every day. To follow Jesus means that we relinquish control over our lives because we trust that His way is best.
