We can become people who us our words like Jesus did through spending time with him, meditating on his word and remembering what he has done for us.

Is there any area of your life that seems out of control, and what can you really do about it? In the message today, we learn that through the power of the Holy Spirit, the people of God can live out the self-controlled life. When the followers of Jesus dwell upon the gospel, have a focused direction, and exercise self-discipline, they display both God and His gospel!

We live in a broken world and we see brokenness all around us which can be overwhelming at times. While we know and rejoice in the fact there will come a day when all things will be made right, what do we do now with the brokenness around us? God invites all those who trust and follow Him to be people of justice, to be light in this broken world so join us as we look at His invitation to live justly in this broken world.

There are over 2,000 verses in the Bible that speak about our wealth! Today we will see how our generous, giving God cares deeply about how we steward our wealth because wealth is a great gift, but makes for a terrible god. As we study Proverbs, we learn that we can either worship our wealth or worship God with our wealth, loving the Giver and not just His gifts.

Proverbs is filled with many practical ways to live the best life we can. One of those practical ways to live the best over the course of our life is to live a life marked by generosity. But what exactly is generosity? What impact does it bring to our lives and the lives of others? What obstacles are there that would keep us from living generously? These are just a few of the questions we will examine as we explore generosity's practical impact on our lives.

Parenting has been called "the greatest single preserve of the amateur." It is a daunting responsibility sometimes, and children don't come with an instruction manual. But, in writing the book of Proverbs, King Solomon had a clear and simple goal for his children: To help them grow in wisdom. Proverbs is filled with wisdom-based advice on how to move immature (and even foolish) young people toward a life of God-honoring "skillful living." Applying this advice in our modern context also takes some skill and insight. But with wise advice, and in the power of the Spirit, it's possible.

Researchers say that the average adult makes about 35,000 choices a day... Choices like, "What to eat, what to wear, what to watch, what to believe." The reality is that you are where you are today because of the choices that you've made in the past; similarly, the choices you make today will determine your tomorrow. Thus, making wise choices is an extremely important and priceless skill that will ultimately determine your development and your destination. Today we will see that the people of God must walk in God's will by trusting in God's Word, thus embodying Jesus' words and actions which leads to a life filled with wise choices and fruitful actions.

Someday soon there will be a cosmic reversal of fortunes. The proud will be humbled, and the humble will be exalted. Which will you choose – humility or pride? Will you
descend into pride, or will you ascend, like Jesus, through humility? Choose wisely!
