A stray dog who continually tried stealing from a Dollar General is now stealing hearts across the country.

Animal control officers were sent to a Dollar General in North Carolina after a stray dog repeatedly tried stealing a certain stuffed animal from the toy aisle. Workers at the Kenansville store told animal control officers that the one-year-old lab mix would enter the store every time a customer would exit.

“He went straight for the unicorn, the same one every time,” Joe Newburn, a supervisor at Dublin County Animal Services told PEOPLE.

Samantha Lane, the officer who responded to the call, was so moved by the dog’s determination to the purple unicorn that she decided to buy it for him. According to Newburn, the stray was very content once he had the $10 toy and left willingly with Lane.

Lane took the dog to a Duplin County Animal Shelter where he was given the name Sisu after the dragon from Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon.

“The only thing we can think is that he came from a home where he had a similar stuffed animal or kids in the home did,” Newburn told PEOPLE.

The shelter quickly posted Sisu’s story with a picture of him cuddling the unicorn to their Facebook page which quickly went viral. To see the post, click HERE.

Sisu was adopted one day later and his unicorn buddy will be following him to his new home, according to animal services.

Free beer is definitely a good ice-breaker!

Amanda and Thomas Evans recently moved from Fort Meyers to nearby Cape Coral during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Florida Couple was unsure when they would get to meet their new neighbors. “Typically, you would bring people cookies or pie or invite them over for dinner, but we weren’t sure about how people were feeling,” Amanda told ABC7.

So, they decided to create a flyer:

“Hi, we’re new to the neighborhood and would like to meet our lovely neighbors. We will be in our driveway with drinks, ready to meet any neighbors who would like to stop by. We can’t wait to meet you.”

Thomas was unsure how many neighbors would stop by but once the “Free Beer” sign went up, the neighbors started making their way over.

“It’s always funny to see a sign on the table that says free beer, just to get people to stop and turn their head and drive by and say what did that sign just say. We had a few people do a double take, free beer is a pretty easy way to get people to show up,” Thomas said.

A loyal dog from Canada put her life at risk to help save owner suffering medical emergency on Tuesday.

Haley Moore was taking her dog Clover for a walk through their Stittsville, Ottawa neighborhood when she suddenly suffered a seizure.

Footage captured from a neighbor’s security camera showed Moore stumble then fall onto a driveway.

The one-year-old Maremma mix is seen immediately going over to check on her owner and stand by her side.

Clover sees a vehicle coming and makes her way to the middle of the roading blocking the street and forcing it to stop.

Dryden Oatway, the driver told CTV News that Clover’s efforts were “really impressive.” Oatway got out of his vehicle and went to check on Moore all while Clover kept watch. “She kept her distance from me but made sure her owner was okay and that was amazing,” Oatway said.

Clover also grabbed the attention of Danielle Pilon, another neighbor who quickly went to get Moore’s parents. By the time her parents arrived at the scene, she was already being treated by paramedics.

Moore has recovered from the incident and Clover was rewarded with steaks for doing “such a great job.”
