This Sunday we look at Casting Crowns "I heard the bells on Christmas Day." It is a song about hope. No matter what we face, our God sees, He cares, and He comes to help us! THAT is the message of Christmas!

We've learned that our "Legos" aren't just for ourselves. We are most fulfilled and have the biggest impact when we use our abilities, time, and resources to touch others.

But does that include God? How could we use our lives that would make God smile?

We'll look at 4 things we can "build" with our Legos for God.

What we build with our "Legos" - the life we choose to live - this is not just about ME. We've seen the impact God wants us to have in the lives of the family and friends around us.

But could God want to use us to also touch the lives of total strangers? We'll look at that today.

All that we have, our abilities, time, and resources are like Lego blocks. (Last week's sermon) The question for today: what do we build and why? Do we build our lives just for ourselves - for ME? That's what our culture says and it's what we like.

But it doesn't work. God has given us our "blocks" so we can build something to have an impact on those around us: our family and friends.

Legos are a lot of fun! With those little blocks we build all type of big projects. Each of our lives is the same way. We're all different, but we all have the same "color" of blocks.

Today we talk about how we decide what to build with our "blocks."

We're all working hard as parents, but are we clear on the goal? What would success look like? Is it more that good test scores or athletic trophies?

In this final sermon of "First Aid 4 Parents" we'll look at the kind of real success that will help our kids be healthy adults with meaningful lives.

There has been a huge change in many homes today: the children are the ones who are in charge. This transfer of authority from parents to children has had a dramatic and negative impact.

What is authority? Is it bad or good? And who should have authority in the home - and why?

There is a lot of confusion today on the role of parents. Is there even a "right" role?

In this sermon we look at 4 critical roles parents need to fill for their children.

Doing what we've been doing as parents, but expecting things to suddenly start working isn't realistic. If we want to be better parents, we are going to have to be willing to do things differently. Even if that means being different from our friends and neighbors.

If we're struggling as parents, doing what we've been doing - only more or harder - probably isn't going to work!The question for today: are we willing to be different, willing to swim upstream, not do what our friends are doing?If God asks us to parent in a new way, will we listen?
