Connor Peoples, a young adult who grew up in Andover Christian, has been serving as a missionary intern in the Philippines. In this interview, our minister Jim Conner asks Connor about his experiences so far.

The Baby came to bring us peace. This peace offered us in Jesus is first of all between us and God. But it does not end there. Jesus also offers us peace with ourselves and peace with all those who live around us.

Jesus was also our Heavenly Fathering coming down to reach out to us. Part of Jesus' purpose was to show us the depth of God's love, as well as to show us the extent to which God is willing to go to reach out to us and bring us to Him.The other aspect is Everlasting. Other parents leave us. Our Heavenly Father will never leave us. We have Him forever.

The baby God promised - the baby that was born is Bethlehem - was also Mighty God!Jesus was and is God Himself. He was not just God's agent or prophet or holy man. Not even just God's Son. He was Almighty God Himself.What a testimony to how much God cares about us - that He would come Himself to save us!And what a promise for us. If Jesus has the full power of God, how can anything we face be too difficult for Him?!

God gave us a "movie trailer" in Isaiah 9:6-7 to let us know some hints of what He was going to do to save the World.He did this in part so we wouldn't overlook a mere baby born in a stable. That baby was like no other baby.One quality He had was to be a Wonderful Counselor.How can Jesus be a wonderful counselor for us? Is that one of the ways He saves us? This sermon look at that aspect of the Baby Jesus.

Part of figuring our our money - and how God wants us to handle it - is to look at our priorities. Our culture says put yourself first - spend our money on ourselves.God wants to propose a different set of priorities. They seem crazy - but they work!
