An account of the first time ever I heard the "Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings read". My response was enthusiastic to say the least. Tolkien's greatest gift, to my 8-year old mind, was how he sparked my imagination. Whether the account of Boromir and Frodo's confrontation, or Galadriel's words of kindness and love to Gimli.

A brief intro to Anduin River, a podcast about The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien. We will be traveling through Tolkien's masterpiece, just as Anduin journeys through Middle-earth. From the very first time I heard the book I saw myself in one of the great halls of Moria. It's vastness made all the vaster because of the darkness. I saw the Witch-King of Angmar at the head of his troops, issuing from Minas Morgul, as the three hobbits looked on in a state of spell bound horror.
