In his first video of Series 4, this is more of a special Edition Andy B video!
With all that has been happening recently, Andy B has been finding sleep rather elusive!

Afghanistan; vaccination passports; President Biden; forced Covid vaccinations for under 12s in Finland; global temperature fluctuations being used for political control and financial gain; China and Taiwan; a forced Home Education register in the UK – there is much to see around us that can easily cause us anxiety and worry.

But, as Christians what is God calling us to do?

What should our response be to these things that are currently shaking the very foundations of humanity?

Andy B takes stock and shares some encouraging words and focus for all of us.

Some people writing songs to help people find the words to describe how they feel. Some people draw and paint to literally illustrate their emotions. Andy B makes videos to encourage all who love and fear God, and call themselves Christians.

Go Deeper with Andy B, as he talks about spiritual food.

He reads a few different Scriptures, including Hebrews 5:11-14, all of which speak of food and sustenance in one way or another.

He talks about the way water travels in a flood, how it will always follow the path of least resistance. Similarly, we often ‘take the path of least resistance’, in many areas of our lives, such when exercising; we might cycle ten miles, but might not be especially fast or focused, thus taking the path of least resistance.

He looks at ‘seeker-friendly’ services, and how they should not be the only type of service in our church, because, sooner or later, we all need to #GoDeeper. It’s appropriate for new converts to have spiritual ‘milk’, but, eventually, we need to start having spiritual ‘meat’.

Go Deeper with Andy B, as he talks about self-control.

He touches on 2 Peter 1, Proverbs 25, and Matthew 7.

He explains the idea of supplementation, keeping in mind the words of 2 Peter 1:3-8, which talk about supplementing lots of godly traits with other godly traits, including self-control.

He also talks about road rage as a perfect example of a lack of self-control. When we get angry with others and start raging at other drivers, our witness is awful, and we fail to show others the righteousness of Christ through our actions.

Go Deeper with Andy B, as he talks about resisting temptation.

He reads both of our Scriptures for this week: James 4:7 and Matthew 4:1-11.

Jesus faced the same temptations we do when He came to earth as a man, so He understands our struggles against temptation. Andy B relates the story of a wealthy lady who was hiring a new chauffer, and how she asked each of the applicants a very specific question to test them.

Go Deeper with Andy B, as he looks at Ecclesiastes 12:1-14 and what it all means.

He challenges those of us who are young not to waste our youth; it is short and time flies by.

He also reminds us of the dangers of making decisions based on how many likes we get on social media.

In addition, Andy B draws our attention to the man who had the most pleasure in life, King Solomon himself, and what conclusions he reached on the subject of pleasure.

Our modern culture is all about getting everything quickly from online deliveries, to fast food, to fast download speeds on the internet. We want everything straight away.

But, this doesn’t help us learn patience, or appreciating learning.

Andy B reminds us that we shouldn’t wait to live, but that we shouldn’t rush to live either – we need to strike a balance between serving God, and living, putting God at the forefront of everything we do.
