  • The Preeminence of Christ to the Church
John Gill in his commentary most eloquently said, the first and chief over all persons, angels, and men; having a superior nature, name, and place, than the former, and being the firstborn among many brethren designed by the latter: and in all things he is the first, and has the precedence and primacy; in sonship, no one is a Son in the sense he is; in election, he was chosen first, and his people in him; in the covenant, he is the surety, Mediator, and messenger of it, he is that itself; in his human nature, he is fairer than the children of men; in redemption, he was alone, and wrought it out himself; in life, he exceeded all others in purity, in doctrine, and miracles; and in dying he conquered death, and rose first from it; in short, he died, revived, and rose again, that he might be Lord both of dead and living; and he ought to have the pre-eminence and first place in the affections of our hearts, in the contemplations of our minds, in the desires of our souls, and in the highest praises of our lips.

  • The Lord’s Prayer: Coming to God as Our Father
The sermon examines the preface of the Lord's Prayer, "Our Father who is in heaven," to establish the proper focus, relation, and direction of Christian prayer. It argues that prayer is an act of worship directed solely to the triune God, rejecting the intercession of saints or angels in favor of the exclusive merit of Christ. The text explores the threefold nature of God's fatherhood—eternal generation, creation, and adoption—emphasizing that believers approach God as children through the work of the Son and the Spirit. Pastor Jason highlights the tension between God's nearness as a loving Father and His transcendence as the sovereign King, urging believers to pray with heavenly affections rather than earthly preoccupations. This perspective encourages a posture of humble confidence, recognizing that God is both the almighty Creator and the caring Father who desires to bless His children.

  • Short-circuiting God's Plans
Beloved in the Lord Jesus: Jacob was godly, but he looked and the winds and the waves and he took his eyes off of the Lord. Yes, he had met with the Lord and his angels and was recently reassured of God's call to return to Canaan. Yes, he had the support of his wives to return. Yes, God had protected from Laban. Yes, God prospered him and made him into 2 companies. But fear took over his life…again! Fear is like a recurring disease that flares up ever so often. Hear today what fear made Jacob do. Our headings are: 1. Jacob Gathers a Gift for Esau 2. Jacob Gives the Gift to Esau 3. Jacob Gets his Family Ready to Meet Esau Our goals are: That you will use God's methods to accomplish God's goals and so bring glory to Christ.

  • When God Reverses the Curse
When God Reverses the Curse Balak, Balaam, the Donkey, the Angel of the Lord, and a People Called to Display His Glory Malachi 1–4 • Numbers and the Balaam Account • Micah 2 • Revelation 1 • Romans 12 Central Truth: God is holy, His glory cannot be changed, and His purposes cannot be overturned. He can turn the curse of an enemy into a blessing, yet He can also turn the hollow blessings of His own people into a curse when their lives misrepresent Him. Therefore, those He has redeemed are called to hear Him, heed Him, honor Him, and hold forth His truth as priests, kings, living sacrifices, and messengers of His glory. A Holy God Who Shares His Glory Well, well, to God be the praise. Amen and amen. We serve a holy God. And when we say that God is holy, we are talking about His uniqueness, His glory, His beauty, His purpose, His person—everything about Him. There is none like Him. Nobody compares to Him. Nobody stands beside Him as His equal. He is altogether unlike anyone and anything else. And what a wonder it is that this holy God would choose to share His glory with people like us. What a wonder that He would bring us into partnership with Him for the work He has called us to do. We are not God, and we cannot add anything to His glory. We cannot improve Him. We cannot change Him. But He has chosen to put His name upon His people and send His people into this world as representatives of who He is. That means how we live matters. How we speak matters. How we treat people matters. How we handle the revelation God has given us matters. Because although we cannot change God's glory, we can distort how somebody else sees His glory. And that is one of the great

  • Lesson 14 - The Book of Zechariah
This sermon examines the first vision in Zechariah, focusing on the symbolism of the myrtle tree and the colored horses to illustrate Israel's resilience and the coming triumph of God's people. The teaching draws parallels between ancient royal customs regarding horse colors and the biblical imagery of judgment and victory, suggesting that the riders represent an angelic army. A significant portion of the message applies the prophet's respectful address to the angel as a model for how believers should approach God in prayer, emphasizing reverence and politeness. The tone is instructional and pastoral, encouraging listeners to cultivate respectful attitudes in daily interactions and spiritual disciplines to foster a deeper connection with the divine.
