  • Acts 5.1-42 - Second Persecution
The sermon examines the contrast between the genuine generosity of Barnabas and the deadly hypocrisy of Ananias and Sapphira, emphasizing that lying to the Holy Spirit carries severe consequences. It then transitions to the second persecution of the early church, where the Jewish leaders arrest the apostles, only for them to be supernaturally released by an angel to continue preaching in the temple. The text highlights the apostles' unwavering obedience to God over human authority, noting that their supernatural works and boldness distinguish them from the religious establishment. Gamaliel's advice to wait and see is critiqued as historically flawed, yet it temporarily spares the apostles from further immediate harm. The lesson concludes by urging believers to prioritize the daily teaching and preaching of Jesus Christ over modern church distractions, reflecting the steadfast devotion of the early disciples.

  • Before the Battle
This sermon explores the structure of the Epistle of Jude, identifying it as a 'battlefield letter' designed to equip believers to contend for the faith. The teaching highlights the chiastic structure of the book, which bookends the central theme of apostasy with the assurance of the Christian's salvation. Drawing parallels to military preparation, the message emphasizes that believers are sanctified, preserved, and called by God, providing a secure foundation before engaging in spiritual conflict. The enemy's primary tactic is described as instilling doubt regarding God's Word, promises, and the believer's standing, whereas the Christian response is rooted in the full assurance of faith, hope, and understanding. The sermon concludes by urging believers to rest in God's mercy and peace, maintaining a posture of compassion and resilience as they navigate the challenges of the last days. Questions: Why does the book of Jude begin and end with assurance? What does the Bible mean by full assurance of faith? How can a Christian know for sure that they are saved? What does Jude mean when he says Christians are sanctified, preserved, and called? What does it mean to be preserved in Jesus Christ? Can a Christian have complete assurance of eternal life? Why is assurance important before contending for the faith? How does Satan use doubt to attack Christians? Why does Satan try to make Christians doubt the Word of God? What does it mean to earnestly contend for the faith in Jude 3? Who are the apostates Jude warns Christians about? Why does Jude warn about false teachers inside the church? • Remember Now
Remember Now, That You May Know Message Summary | Micah 6:3–5; Numbers 22–25; Revelation 2 and 6–9 Central Truth: Remembering the righteous works of God strengthens our confidence in His faithfulness, guards us against compromise, and teaches us to trust Him with what we cannot fully understand. This message connects God's dealings with Israel in Numbers, His call to remember in Micah, and the revelation of His future purposes in Revelation. Throughout Scripture, God demonstrates that He is righteous, precise, sovereign, and trustworthy. We may not understand every detail of His plans, but we can trust the One who knows every detail. In Revelation, John saw and heard extraordinary things, yet he sometimes needed further explanation to understand what he witnessed. This reminds us to approach prophecy with humility. We should carefully study what God has revealed without becoming so consumed with identifying every symbol and arranging every event that we miss the central purpose: the unveiling of Jesus Christ. Those gathered around the throne are worshiping, trusting, obeying, and carrying out their assignments. We ought to be doing the same. The precise limitations placed upon the judgments in Revelation demonstrate that nothing is outside God's authority. Even Satan and the fallen angels cannot exceed what God permits. Yet Revelation 9 also reveals the danger of an unrepentant heart. Despite devastating judgments, people continue in their sins, refusing to reconsider their ways and turn to God. Suffering alone does not produce repentance; we must respond to the Lord. This brings us to Balaam. Balak hired him to curse Israel, but he could not overturn what God had b

  • The Mighty Angel and the Little Book
The sermon examines Revelation chapter 10 as a parenthetical pause in the narrative of tribulation judgments, highlighting the appearance of a mighty angel and the symbolism of the little book. The speaker argues that this angel is a distinct messenger rather than the pre-incarnate Christ, citing the angel's oath by the Lord and John's lack of worship as key evidence. The text emphasizes the angel's declaration that God's mystery will be finished at the seventh trumpet, signaling the end of delay for divine justice. The act of eating the book is interpreted as the internalization of God's Word, which is sweet in its promise of the kingdom but bitter in its foreknowledge of coming judgments. The message concludes by encouraging believers to find comfort in God's sovereign control and the importance of prophetic witness during times of turmoil.
