  • Tale of Two Mountains Part 1
Verse by verse exposition through the book of Hebrews. (Sermon also includes the reading and exhortation from the Lord's Table liturgy) Heb 12:18 For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest, 19 and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore. 20 (For they could not endure what was commanded: "And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow." 21 And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.") 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

  • Taste and See
In this sermon from Psalm 34, Pastor Rockhill draws the congregation to the goodness of the Lord as experienced by David when he fled from Saul and feigned madness before the Philistine king. Though God's people today do not face David's exact trials, Pastor Rockhill reminds them that every believer wages spiritual warfare against sin, Satan, and temptation, and so may still identify with the psalmist's fears and troubles. The central burden is a summons to taste and see that the Lord is good. Pastor Rockhill divides the psalm into the singing (verses 1-10), where David praises God at all times and invites others to magnify the Lord with him, and the sermon (verses 11-22), where practical instruction follows for those who have tasted the Lord's kindness. He stresses that deliverance came not by David's scheming but by the angel of the Lord who encamps around those who fear Him. Key doctrine is set forth in the character of God: He is near, righteous, faithful, compassionate, and sovereign over the many afflictions of the righteous, from which He delivers them all. Pastor Rockhill points to the unbroken bones of Christ as the fulfillment of this preserving grace. By way of application, he calls hearers to guard their tongues, depart from evil, do good, and pursue peace as the fruit of salvation rather than its cause. All rests on Christ, who bore God's wrath so that none who trust in Him shall be condemned. He urges every listener to lay down doubt and fear and taste the gospel's goodness by faith.

  • The Lamb's Victory Over Temptations, Transgressors, And Those Who Remain T
Revelation 14:1–13 is significant because it presents the Lamb, Jesus Christ, standing victoriously with His redeemed people, contrasting their faithfulness with the rebellion and judgment of those who follow the world and oppose God. The 144,000 represent those who belong to Christ, bearing His name, following Him faithfully, and remaining spiritually pure amid temptation and persecution. The three angelic proclamations warn against worshiping the beast and receiving his mark, announce Babylon's fall, and declare the certainty of God's judgment upon those who persist in rebellion. In the context of "The Lamb's Victory Over Temptations, Transgressors, And Those Who Remain True," the passage reminds believers that Christ has already secured the ultimate victory and calls His people to remain steadfast, obedient, and faithful to Him regardless of worldly pressure. The passage concludes with a profound encouragement to persevere: those who die in the Lord are blessed because their faithful works follow them, while the wicked ultimately face God's righteous judgment.
