Coatis live in South or Central America and are part of the raccoon family. They forage and live or travel in groups. They like to be around parks and beg people for food, which means they have adapted to human environments and behaviours. Although like many animals, they are mostly afraid of people.

Vervet monkeys are Old World monkeys that have adapted living around humans. They are said to be aggressive, but if they are, it is in defense. Like other monkeys, they could steal food from patrons, but this is due to the lack of their own territory and food supply, as they are forced to share space with humans. This is why some people will tell you they met a mean monkey and some will say they met a sweet or curious monkey. Adaptive strategies are different. Some will bend to the will of humans for food, as others will remind patrons of whose house they are in.
