We are in a terrible, fiery  climate emergency. Humans and animals are in crisis. We have seen at least a billion animals die [not including billions of insects. This number is rapidly rising  as animals face starvation in destroyed ecosystems where there is no food.  Responding to this on the front line of this are the wildlife rescue groups .  They have always been there caring for injured animas and orphans. Now they are  massively  mobilizing  to leave out food and for the animals in the burnt out forest and heal those that are injured.Earth Matters brings you a glimpse of the life of  wildlife carer Belinda Hogarth _Boyd and plugs you into some  ideas and places where you too can help. Music :  Superb Wrens, Honeyeaters, Rufous Whistler, Olive backed Oriole from  'A Morning in the Australian Bush' album by Listening Earth"This week's show is #1227 was produced by Bec HorridgeLINKS:Despite the enormous devastation, the Government is taking a miserly approach to our iconic wildlife who have been decimated by bushfires.Last week, I called on the PM to fund the treatment and rehabilitation of fire-affected wildlife.
