Anime Pulse

With Weltall’s impending trip to the land of the rising sun which illuminates the tentacle porn, we figured a movie about Japan would be just right. It’s from the eighties if that helps and isn’t a comedy. It’s also not weekend at Bernie’s though that’s been requested over seven hundred times. We figure that’s an outlier from a rabid Terry Kiser fan. If you’re reading this, Gerald, we’ll get to it if and when we choose. We have Black Rain(1989). Directed by Ridley Scott, starring Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia. Douglas and Garcia play detectives who arrest a member of the Yakuza and escort him back to Japan. He escapes …

This week on Anime Pulse we got scrapped knees, adopting anime children, and a man made of chainsaws. Up first Joseph recounts the tail of how he ended up looking like he lost a fight with a bunch of rocks, and Andrew is curious to know what kids in anime you'd like to adopt if given the chance. Then in the industry news we have a final decision on what KyoAni plans to do with their old site after the arsonist attack, a lady thinks Oshi no Ko is about her dead daughter, and summer anime that are really going to mess with the norm. And finally we end on a Gattai as Joseph avoids being dragged into the hype for a man saw chain, and Andrew kills a yakuza member while searching for a place called heaven.

We’re just going to cut to the chase and say we have a couple of manga. Normally, we’d hem and haw a bit before getting to the point. Perhaps we’d even hee and haw a bit. Pour moonshine then get a little tipsy before following the point off a cliff. Oh my, there seems to be a Mason jar with a spirituous liquid nearby. Tim has a request in My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog. We start off with a dork waking up in a dogs body. The Mangaka tries to play coy and hide this from us and the main moron doesn’t figure it out until the end of the …

The journey into the æther is complete. We should have all the episodes accounted for.

We want to break things up with an adaptation from comics with League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. We’d both seen the movie in the theaters and found it enjoyable. So when we heard a lot of the fans of the comics were annoyed by the depiction, we added it to our list. Britain needs to assemble a nineteenth century collection of superheroes drawn from public domain fiction. We agree that the comics are better thought out and the characters are a bit deeper. But we can’t help but like the movie for being fun. Our Drink:The Cock Tail 1 Tbsp Sugar or Simple Syrup2 Oz Whiskey, Bourbon or Rum3 Oz Water4 …

We found it all and you guys get so much to listen to while Weltall is missing.

This week on Anime Pulse we got an exciting new member of the Vshojo cast, lame 5-year awards, and the dark side of idols. Up first Joseph is tanning things up after enjoying some Dave's Hot Chicken, and Andrew would like to know who our favorite angels in anime are. Then in the industry news a city gets rich after finding some cash in the trash, taking unwanted pictures of clothed individuals is now illegal, and Amazon is trying to make us BadFrown. Lastly in the previews Joseph ends up isekai'd into another would with his older sister who kills the legendary hero, and Andrew is leading the fight against the institution who is trying to take down the idol industry.

Do we need to introduce this movie? The grand pappy of the summer tent pole film. The movie that made Spielberg a household name and helped launch a shift in the way movies were made. We bring a discussion of Jaws. If you read the book, you went into the movie wondering where the dicussion of small town politics was. Or maybe you missed the affair between Mrs Brody and Hooper. All of this chaff is separated from the wheat in the movie and makes the film superior. We also start a new tradition in this episode where we have a drink for the occasion. The Modified Sharkbite 1 oz of …
