Come on down to the graveyard and don’t be seduced by the tall man. We’ve cracked open the skull of a b movie monster film, Phantasm(1979). We have a sad kid who works on cars that lives with his brother. Their parents are dead and then some of the older brother’s friends start dying. Bodies start disappearing and silver orbs are zooming about. All why a creepily tall man shouts “boy!” This may sound like a normal day in Kansas and it is until they stumble upon a gateway to another dimension or maybe planet appears. Tim has Black 47[2018]. A movie which was not about love and fortune at the roulette wheel. It’s rather …

We’re here at Twin Peaks manga cafe. As always we bring you two, salty manga reviews. We might also coat it in ketchup with frowny face. Tim has Renjou Desperado. What happens when you mash the future western setting of Trigun and add in the a wandering ronin? You get a cyborg samurai woman wandering a post apocalyptic Japan-America. She’s not out for revenge or anything as silly as that. She’s looking for a husband and keeps finding useless, traitorous, bigamists who aren’t worth the wipe of her blade. It gets a Crackers. Weltall has If I was a Dictator. The cover makes this seem like things happen and it should be memorable. But this was …

Industry news is up next bringing us one entire topic, as a professor in Japan is attempting to resurrect an extinct species of sweets. And finally come more previews with Joseph adjusting his glasses after making out with a girl to earn life points, and Andrew attempts to escape a walled kingdom full of bad CGI arms.

Looks like the house of mouse has stirred up a little controversy in their latest film. Due to the unspecified global event with a mysterious origin. Probably Australian kangaroo pox that moved from koala to humans headed to the EU. So we have Mulan: Rise of a Warrior[2009]. A movie turned out in mainland west Taiwan based on the legend of Mulan. We wanted to see how a the target audience turned out their own version. Turns out it’s a lot less singing dragons and a hair more wirefu. Not to the extremes some other wuxia films have but it’s really not very good. This leave us both with the rat’s production Mulan[2020]. …

Cold weather got you down? Isolation creeping up on you? Have people been trying to take away you ice cream bar you’ve had since you were a child? Sounds like Space Madness to us. Nothing a good double dose of manga reviews can’t restore. Tim returns to Ingoshima. The weird island where numerous Japanese high school students are getting massacred. What’s not to love? Disgusting people who run slave camps where the new captures are being shuffled into. This gives us a glimpse into the inner workings of the island barbarians. With some nice, if flat, characters it keeps a Read It Now. Weltall has Shy. The world was on the brink of …
