Anita H - Be Loud About It - Meeting 168

Listen Later

Hi! I am Anita born and raised in Spokane WA. I was a chef and cook until my disease of alcoholism grew to something I could not handle anymore. Through the years I’ve faced many traumatic events which in turn made my life spiral down fast. In 2018 I got so sick from my alcoholism it nearly killed me. I spent most of the year in and out of the hospital, and still am battling my never ending health decline to this day.  Anita shares in this conversation the importance of being loud about it and shunning the stigma of addiction and alcoholism as well as a ton of other experience, strength, and hope.  This is a powerful conversation from one who has lived in the trenches.

Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We also hope to smash the stigma of addiction so that people are more willing to come out of the shadows and into the light.

Reco12 appreciates your help in keeping us working our 12th Step with these great resources and services for the addict and loved ones.  We gratefully accept contributions to help cover the costs of the Zoom platform, podcast platform, web hosting, and administrative costs.
