Founded in Hanover in 1979 by Annette Grotkasten, Rudolf Grimm , Andreas Kühne, and Martin Fuchs, Bärchen und die Milchbubis played their first concert in Offenburg in early 1980. From mid-1980 onward, they regularly performed as the opening act for Hans-A-Plast .
In 1980, they released the EP "Jung kaputt spart Altersheime" on No Fun Records . The title track was the most played single on Bavarian Radio 's youth radio station that year . Afterward, bassist and songwriter Martin Fuchs left the band and was replaced by Kai Nungesser.
