We also talked to him about the national perception of Ryan Tannehill. Is it better or worse than the perception of Tannehill down in South Florida? The answer may surprise you. Another answer that may surprise you? Claybon's thoughts on Jarvis Landry.
Additionally, we touch on the upcoming NFL draft, who the Dolphins may select at 11, and the incoming quarterback class. As always, we answer your questions from the Phinsider Radio Mailbag!

  • Phinsider Radio - Recapping Super Bowl 52 and looking at Josh McDaniels
This week on Phinsider Radio, we recap Super Bowl 52 from the National Anthem to the end of the game and everything in between. What commercials stood out? What was the gutsiest play call by Doug Pederson and the Eagles offense? How did they come together to beat the New England Patriots? Of course, we must discuss Jay Ajayi and the photo he put up on Instagram following the game. Was he right to do so or was it a petty move? We dicuss in detail.
Additionally, we also look at how Josh McDaniels left the Colts at the altar and how it impacts the Miami Dolphins both now and in the future. Will this be a replay of Bill Belichick ruling the AFC East for years to come or will McDaniels fall flat on his face like he did in Denver?
Join MC$, Houtz and Sutton and tune in to this week's edition of Phinsider Radio to hear this and more!

  • Phinsider Radio - Super Bowl, Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith, Dolphins QB plans & more
With Sutton and Houtz pretending to be sick, MC$ breaks down the latest news heading into Super Bowl Weekend.
Will Tom Brady and Bill Belichick ride off into the sunset after the game or will they continue to wreck havoc on the NFL?
He also discusses Kirk Cousins and the firestorm he created on Twitter. Cousins comes into play because the Washington Redskins made a crazy trade, sending CB Kendall Fuller and a third round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for Alex Smith.
With all that quarterback talk, where do the Dolphins stand on this? He gives you the latest buzz. Hint - where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
MC$ talks about new Dolphins CB coach Tony Oden and breaks down his coaching career. Is this a big get for the Dolphins?

  • Phinsider Radio - Is this the worst Super Bowl matchup for Miami Dolphins fans?
The stage is set for the biggest game of the NFL season and no, we’re not talking about the Pro Bowl! It’s going to be the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
It’s one of the worst match-ups possible for many Dolphins fans. On one side, you have the Patriots but on the other, there’s Jay Ajayi. Why are Dolphins fans so angered about Jay Ajayi playing in the Super Bowl and is their anger warranted? We dive into this topic on Phinsider Radio.
Besides looking at Jay Ajayi and the Super Bowl, we quickly recap the Conference Championship games. As always, we take your questions from the Phinsider Radio mailbag.

  • Phinsider Radio - What should the Miami Dolphins do with Cameron Wake?
This week on Phinsider Radio, we dive into one of the greatest players in Miami Dolphins history - Cameron Wake. At 36-years-old, he has shown a few signs of slowing down but when it comes time to rushing the passer, he’s still one of the best in the game.
With his run defense a huge liability though, and with his large contract number, does it make sense to consider other options? More specifically, should the Dolphins consider trading him to another team? We look at that scenario along with what it would look like if Miami re-structured his contract, cut him outright, or held onto him for at least one more year.
We also look back at this past weekend’s NFL games and look ahead to the Conference Championships. It was certainly an exciting weekend of football and this Sunday will be no different.
As always, we take your questions from the Phinsider Radio mailbag. We’re nearing draft season so a few questions touched on that along with the latest on Jarvis Landry and his contract update.

  • Phinsider Radio: Should the Miami Dolphins re-sign Jarvis Landry?
This week on Phinsider Radio, Sutton, Houtz and myself talk about Jarvis Landry and whether the Miami Dolphins should bring him back on a long-term contract.
There is no doubt that Landry has been a dynamite player since coming into the NFL but is it because of his true talent level or is it because of the scheme he is in? While we aren’t doubting his talent, we ask if his production would be the same or better on another team such as the San Francisco 49ers.
We compare Landry to current receivers in the NFL, including Doug Baldwin, Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, Tavon Austin, TY Hilton and others. Does he deserve the same kind of contract these receivers recently signed, or should he be getting something a little less? Of course, the big sticking point is guaranteed money. Where will Landry’s contract fall in line for that? We dive in.
If you’re on Twitter, you’ve heard about #LandryGangGang. What is it? We try to explain, although we aren’t sure if we were very successful doing so. We think we hit a lightbulb moment, but perhaps the answer to where this originated will always remain a mystery.
As always, we answer your questions from the Phinsider Radio Mailbag and the ones posed on Twitter.
All of this, and so much more regarding Landry can be heard by listening to this week’s edition of Phinsider Radio!

  • How should the Miami Dolphins go about getting insurance for Ryan Tannehill?
This week’s edition of Phinsider Radio is a unique one as we dive head first into the quarterback situation. More specifically, we talk about the different ways the Miami Dolphins can get insurance for Ryan Tannehill.
Draft a quarterback in the first two days of the draft
We take on the elephant in the room and discuss what it would mean if the Dolphins drafted a quarterback in the first, second or third round. Does this necessarily mean it’s the end of Ryan Tannehill in Miami or is it simply the smart thing to do?
    Weighing other needs vs. quarterback
Let’s say both Roquan Smith and Baker Mayfield are on the board when the Miami Dolphins are on the clock. Who should they draft? The crew takes this head on and gives their answers as to what they would do if they were running the team.
Looking at the financial reality of Ryan Tannehill’s contract
The Dolphins can get out of Tannehill’s contract after the 2018 season. His contract expires after the 2020 season. What salary cap ramifications would his contract have on the team if they decide to re-sign him at the end of the 2020 season?
    All of this and more!
Besides those primary topics, we look at other factors and angles, including if we’d rather have certain quarterbacks in the NFL over Tannehill. We also do a rapid fire segment for the Phinsider Radio mailbag!

  • Phinsider Radio - Playoffs or tank? 2018 offseason - QB, WR, RB, DE and more!
It’s a late edition of Phinsider Radio this week due to some illness running around the Phinsider Radio crew. However, we were determined and steadfast in coming together to record this show for all of our loyal listeners (all 13 of you).
This week, we explained why the sky is not falling for the Miami Dolphins and why the playoffs aren’t such a longshot when you really break it down and look at it. We give you all the scenarios and what the Dolphins need to do to secure a playoff spot for the second consecutive year.
But, even with the playoffs in sight, there are fans who would rather see the Dolphins lose the last two games and get a better draft position. We discuss that line of thinking and give both sides of the argument.
If the Dolphins were to make the playoffs, could they make any noise with their up and down team? We hit key points on the defense, Jay Cutler, the WR corps and more.
We use those same points to debate what the Dolphins should do this upcoming offseason. Should they draft a quarterback to back up Ryan Tannehill? Can Kenyan Drake be a featured back? What about DeVante Parker? Do you trade him or give him one more year? Cameron Wake is aging - is it time to part ways with him?
Since the Dolphins lost on Sunday, we bring back our Phinsider Radio press conference, featuring Houtz as Defensive Coordinator Matt Burke, Sutton as Offensive Coordinator Clyde Christensen and MC$ as Head Coach Adam Gase.
Finally, we take a final look at the upcoming game against the Kansas City Chiefs and what the Dolphins need to do to take home a victory.

  • Phinsider Radio - Victory over the Patriots, Howard, Drake, Landry and more!
This week on Phinsider Radio, MC$, Sutton the creepy soccer dad, and Houtzua talk about the Miami Dolphins huge victory over the New England Patriots. More specifically, we dissect the game and look at some key contributors and how they fit into the Dolphins future.
We take a dive into the game plan that defensive coordinator Matt Burke put together after being embarrassed by the Patriots just two weeks prior. It was a genius plan and someone who helped him execute that plan was none other than AFC Defensive Player of the Week, Xavien Howard.
Howard has been a shutdown corner the past two weeks so we discuss whether or not this will continue. Did Howard find the light bulb and can he remain this good the rest of the year and beyond?
We also talk about Kenyan Drake and the impressive two games he has put together. Like Howard, we discuss whether or not he can put it all together and become one of the best running backs in the AFC, if not the NFL.
Besides Howard and Drake, we spend time talking about the likes of Jay Cutler, Jarvis Landry, Kiko Alonso and more. As always, we take questions from Twitter and the Phinsider Radio mailbag.

  • Phinsider Radio - Playoff hopes still alive, Kenyan Drake, and more!
The Miami Dolphins dominated the Denver Broncos in all three phases of the game and came away with a 35-9 victory on Sunday. This means their slim playoff hopes are still alive, but they'll need to win their remaining four games and it won't be an easy task.
Can Kenyan Drake and Xavien Howard build off the Broncos game and carry that forward over the next four games? They'll be tested quickly against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. If they can continue the success they found on Sunday, the Dolphins just might be able to pull off the upset against the Patriots. We'll also discuss how the special teams unit can build off their success from the Broncos game.
With Drake emerging on Sunday, there are now questions as to whether or not he can sustain this. If he can, does this mean the Dolphins should look away frmo an elite talent like Saquon Barkley? Head Coach Adam Gase said he doesn't like to have featured backs, but MC$ and Sutton explain how his history of running backs says otherwise.
As always, we take your questions frmo the Phinsider Radio mailbag. Then, we close out the show with a depressing look at the future of the NFL. Will it still be around in 15-20 years? We discuss after a brutal Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals game on Monday Night Football.
