Stefan Haves (an award-winning theatre and Cirque Du Soleil director and teacher) shares with us his life-long journey in theatre and the many twists and turns along the way, and some key insighs he has to pass along to the rest of us.
We dive into what clowning is, the art of it, and why it's important in both theatre and performing arts, but also in the world and in activism. Did you know that clowning is really based in the idea of anti-authority? And that the audience HAS to want the clown to the win? All this and a whole lot more is discussed around what actually makes clowning particularly healing for so many.

In this episode, I sit down with Dave Klaus who is a Life Coach, Consultant, Zen Priest, Facilitator, and former Criminal Trial Laywer with the Alameda County Public Defender. We explore his own journey breaking out of the patriarchal systems that often define manhood for so many and into a more heart-centered, vulnerable way of being and relating in the world.
Dave shares his own journey and how it has led to his work helping other men through various modalities, including the Mankind Project and The Freedom Within Project (which is a nonprofit working to reduce recidivism and change the culture inside prisons and jails through self-awareness and emotional literacy).
We talk about the power of emotional literacy, and the transformational experience that sharing and healing in community can offer. And dive into the common themes that many men face in our society today including isolation/loneliness, the struggles with navigating friendship and relationships, shame, and healing from trauma. Plus, the many ways men can explore growth, healing, integrity, joy, self-love, and so much more through intentional men's work.

In this episode I sit down with community organizer, artist, and scholar, Lily Lamboy, who is also the Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Modern Family Institute, a nonprofit that researches and advocates for diverse family and relationship structures. We dive into what a "modern family" is today and how current legislation, systems, structures, and research are not accurately reflecting and supporting the non-nuclear families that are abundant and growing in our society.
Lily shares insights on how we can rethink family and community care, the challenges we're facing with the nuclear family model driving so much in our culture, how we can create our own unique family structures, and examples of what non-nuclear families might look like in today's world... plus a whole lot more!
**This episode was recorded on March 25, 2024 and since the recording, two very exciting pieces of legislation have been passed in the Bay Area supporting these initiatives. You can read more about legal protections passed in Berkeley and Oakland at the articles here and here.

In this episode with Ginny Muir (coach, healer, and medicine women), we explore what a death cycle is and how these tiny (and sometimes large) deaths in our life are a real opportunity for rebirth. Whether it's the loss of a relationship, an identity, or an actual human we love... or a major life transition that we're navigating... we're all faced with death cycles as part of the human experience.
Ginny walks us through the common phases of a death cycle, relatable examples, and tips on how one can more gracefully embrace, navigate, and even prepare for a death cycle.
