Okay, so it has been over a year since part 2 of the Essential Kylie series was released but the reason has been the difficulty in finding quality remixes of her singles from the late 90's and early 2000's. This is where my good friend Rob (aka Division 4) stepped in and helped me out enormously. He generously gave me some of his personal and private remixes that he had done of Kylie and I am extremely grateful for his generosity. This edition is dedicated to him. A big shout out also to DJ Argonaut from Melbourne. This 3rd edition covers Kylie's album releases 'Impossible Princess'; 'Light Years'; 'Fever'; 'Body Language'; 'X' and her self titled album 'Kylie Minogue'. "Where Is The Feeling" marked a move into a smoother, house phase of her musical sound, while "Some Kind Of Bliss" highlighted an indie sound. "Spinning Around" was a massive hit which established the sexy playful side of her and her music as did "Kids", her collaboration with Robbie Williams. Even though she had had some success in the USA with "Locomotion", her single "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" went to number 1 in nearly every country it was released in and the music video was provocative and something completely new for Kylie. "Love At First Sight" was another huge hit and she was on a role. "Slow", "Red Blooded Woman" and "Wow" brought her to the close of the naughties and set her up to launch into the 2010's. The April edition of UP! has inadvertently become a 'home use' edition. With Covid-19 practically shutting the world down in an unprecedented way, a self isolating disco at home seems to be the only way to recapture some feel good musical vibes. This months set kicks off with some smooth house & progressive house tracks from Karen Harding, Becky Hill, Alan Walker and Joel Corry. Remixes come from Future Kings, Joel Corry, Marc Stout and Bassment respectively. A welcome return mix from Cosmic Dawn as well as mixes from Bimbo Jones, Scotty Boy and Division 4 & Matt Consola kick the middle of the set up a notch with tracks from JoAnna Michelle, Ava Max and Raquela. Dirty Disco deliver two stand out mixes on Taylor Swift's "You Need To Calm Down" and Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love". The set continues to build with some big room, hi energy from Tommer Mizrahi, and Dario Xavier to close it out. After every big night out or major dance party event, a recovery is required. This is not a chill out session, this is a smaller gathering where you can still either dance or relax a bit without the frantic main floor beats smacking you over the head. This is where the second edition of recovery comes in. This set, like it's predecessor, is more laid back in style, decreasing in BPM as it progresses. There are many classic house tracks from past and present sporting some new remixes. I made this mix for my two very good friends Anthony & Matt here in Australia for their post wedding/joint birthday pool party celebration up on Hamilton Island the weekend before Mardi Gras 2020. It's Mardi Gras time in Sydney again so it's time for the men to shine. This 13th edition of Mardi Gras Men continues the tradition of capturing a blend of older classic tracks with newer remixes and putting them together with more current male artists. The set kicks of with Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" which was one of the biggest selling songs of the 80's. Queen & David Bowie, Elton John, Michael Jackson and even INXS make appearances from the earlier decades. George Michael, Ben Platt and Ne-Yo fill out the later decades. Continuing on with the 2020 editions of Mardi Gras anthems comes the 14th installment. This edition explodes out of the gate with a killer remix of Kylie's "Love At First Sight" by Tommer Mizrahi and the energy level kicks on right to the end. Classic tracks from Florence + The Machine and N-Trance get great new mixes from Sagi Kariv along with an awesome Guena LG remix of the 90's anthem "Ride On Time" by Black Box. Tommer Mizrahi strikes again with another brilliant mix, this time for Lady Gaga's "The Cure" and Tony Moran & Warren Rigg turn in a stomper for "Not Enough" by John LePage. Beyonce's "Love On Top" is a floor filler as well. I thought the Freemasons had done the definitive mix of "Most Precious Love" but Dirty Disco's epic mix is every bit as good. March 2020's Mardi Gras anthems started with Whitney Houston in the 13th edition and finishes with her in this 14th edition. The March edition of UP! is always a 2 parter. I do this because of the history of club anthems played at the party over the years. Part 13 of Mardi Gras anthems arrives a little sooner than usual as Mardi Gras falls on the 29th of February 2020, this year being a leap year. So, preparations need to be made. The front end of the set has new remixes of classic diva tracks starting off with the Dirty Disco remix of Whitney's "I'm Every Woman". Madonna and Donna Summer get standout mixes from Dario Xavier and Barry Harris works his magic on the classic Weather Girls hit "It's Raining Men". From here on, there are anthems from Corona, Katy Perry, P!nk, Australia's Tina Arena and Kesha, who will be performing live at the party. Killer mixes come from Sagi Kariv, Tommer Mizrahi, 7th Heaven and Toy Armada & DJ GRIND. Throw in some Rihanna to close out the set and MG anthems 13 is ready to rock. Enjoy

The February 2020 edition of UP! combines vocal house anthems with some big room and progressive house sounds. The set kicks off with a great cover of "In & Out Of My Life" by Steff Da Campo. Mr Timothy and Inaya Day team up for a new track "Hands Up" and Da Buzz are back with a new track "Show You Love" mixed by SoundFactory. It seems everything the Jonas Brothers release is a hit and the Dario Xavier mix of their track "Cool" is no exception. Billie Eilish gets the Dirty Disco treatment on "Everything I Wanted" and Big Kid ft. Audrey Callahan turn in a great cover of the classic Police track "Every Breath You Take" to round out the set. Just in time for New Year's Eve and ushering in the new decade comes the first edition of UP! - January 2020. This set is designed with maximum energy to keep your hands in the air and your feet moving. Inaya Day features on 2 tracks here. The first being "Beautiful Life", her collaboration with Master Fale which kicks off the set. Two energy filled house stompers "Rushing Back" by Flume and "Never Be The Same" by Tritonal get fantastic remixes from Division 4 and Alpha 9 respectively. Dirty Disco don't disappoint with back to back mixes for Galantis/Dolly Parton and Billie Eilish. Kesha (who has just announced she is performing at Sydney Mardi Gras 2020) has her new track "Raising Hell" brilliantly mixed by DJ Blacklow. The back end of the set sits firmly in main room anthem territory with mixes from Tommer Mizrahi, Sagi Kariv and Inaya Day's second appearance with "One World" given the big room treatment by Micky Friedmann.
