Mardi Gras' 40 year anniversary has come & gone. Cher came, she performed & she was awesome. As promised, this year was going to be a 4 part edition of MG anthems. The final installment moves into more recent anthem territory with diva anthems galore. Tracks from Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Mel's B & C, Gloria Estefan, Kristine W and Cher herself are given the remix treatment by the Freemasons, Toy Armada & DJ GRIND and Tony Moran. There are a bucket load of 7th Heaven remixes on this edition as they really know how to up a song to anthem status. Keep your ears open for a special Mardi Gras Men edition coming soon. Powering along with the 40 year anniversary editions of Mardi Gras Anthems, part 9 takes a different track to the previous releases. In the 90's & early 2000's there was a dedicated trance and vocal trance following at the parties including the annual Sleaze Ball party which was held in October.
This edition leans towards the softer, more vocal trance sound from those days. Almighty, Wayne G. and Hex Hector deliver some classic mixes for Kylie Minogue, Motiv8 and Melanie C respectively. 303 Dreams turn in a spectacular mix of "Ray Of Light" which could quite possibly be my favourite Madonna track of all time. This edition of MG anthems will definitely get your hands in the air. Enjoy

It's that time of year here in Sydney - March means Mardi Gras. The festival, the parade and the party. This year marks the 40th Anniversary of Sydney's Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras and it's gonna be huge with Cher as the headline performer.
