The September '21 edition of UP! is a commercial house journey featuring artists such as Katherine Ellis, Rita Ora, Little Mix, Jonas Brothers, The Weeknd and even new music from Deborah Cox. Outstanding remixes across the board from producers such as 7th Heaven, Division 4 & Matt Consola, Dirty Disco, Offer Nissim and Mark Knight to name a few. As the pandemic drags on around the world, let's all hope that as people take the sensible and responsible approach to getting vaccinated, we can start to get back to a degree of normal life. I can honestly say that I never thought I would have done an Essential mix for Justin Bieber. When he first burst onto the music scene as a 14 year old or whatever age he was, it was safe to say that I wasn't his target audience. But I have to say that as Justin has grown and matured, so has his music. It was virtually impossible to do a chronological playlist of his hits because the remixes are so varied and not always released at the same time as the actual single release. He also has a prolific history of collaborating with a wide range of artists and producers which I think has played a big role in his own musical evolution. When I saw his good natured response to his Comedy Central Roast a few years back, I thought yeah, this kid is cool. This first episode has a more commercial house feel to it. The next edition will open up to a more big room feel. Now that I am apparently a 'Belieber', I hope you can do your own conversion therapy with Essential Justin Bieber part 1. Enjoy

The August '21 edition of UP! is jam packed with vocal house and club anthems. The final month of summer in the north and winter in the south (Hooray - I hate winter), are fare welled with some uplifting, melodic tracks from artists such as Jessie Ware, Marcella Detroit, Kelli-Leigh, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran and the Jonas Brothers to name a few. 7th Heaven and Dirty Disco feature two excellent remixes each and Dario Xavier shows out with a different sound for him on the Jonas Brothers "Remember This". Junior Jack's classic "Stupidisco" is given the updated treatment from Deeperlove and it's great to hear new music from Marcella Detroit. The set closes out with some thumping club mixes from Luis Vazquez and Thiago Antony for OXA and Ava Max respectively. As Sydney enters yet another month of Covid lockdown (because idiots won't follow the rules) at least the August '21 edition of UP! will give you something to tap your toes to at home. Enjoy

The July 2021 edition of UP! was supposed to be ready for the American 4th of July long weekend but I dropped the ball on this one - apologies. This edition kicks off with some strong house tracks from Cedric Gervais, Mark Knight and Christina Grimmie. Dirty Disco feature three outstanding remixes in this set for Katy Perry, P!nk and Ani respectively. Ralphi Rosario and Craig J Snyder have teamed up to form The Shamanic and their first track "Fire" is excellent. Australian DJ/Producer Dan Slater delivers an uplifting collaboration with vocalist Alan Gendreau and I've even included an awesome Thiago Antony remix of the Biebster's "Hold On". Jose Spinnin' Cortez covers the Tina Cousins track "Pray" and the set rounds out with a great Dario Xavier remix of "Hero" by Afrojack and David Guetta. A belated Happy Independence Day to my American friends and Happy Wednesday (release day) to other friends around the world. Enjoy
