The Christian life is about saying "yes" to Jesus. Most of the time, we say "yes" by choosing obedience in the small things. Sometimes though, God gives us the opportunity to go on an adventure with Him, and saying "yes" looks like trusting Him on the journey. Families' Pastor Chris Pletcher and Arlina Pletcher are saying "yes" to God and His invitation to join our Antioch family in Austin, TX as Chris takes on the role of Campus Pastor for Antioch Austin's north campus. Choosing obedience to God doesn’t have to look complicated. Obedience is something we all interact with throughout our lives. We have all been told at some point we need to do something a certain way. Some of us might have some troubling thoughts or difficulty when it comes to following or not following directions. Whatever our individual experience with obedience may be, we all have a certain way we view obedience to God.

This past Sunday, our Children’s Pastor Garrett Cole shared with us that God doesn’t desire us to be obedient because He’s secretly entertained by us trying to figure out what He wants us to do. God’s heart is that we understand that we have the privilege of aligning our hearts with His by saying yes to Him every day. Garrett shared how being obedient to Him reaps fruit in our lives in the form of more of Him. By partnering with God in the little and the big, we receive more peace, more joy, more patience, and more love for Him and His creation.
