Almost everyone feels chronically busy these days. Busyness has become so normal the we just think this is the way life is. But is it? From the very beginning, God has established the practice of Sabbath – a day when we take time to rest and be replenished. Some think of it as pointless legalism, but God intended Sabbath to be a blessing and not a burden, as well as a remedy for our busyness.

We enter the new year with a list of hopes, dreams, plans, and agendas for 2019. But what if we took a different approach than our usual New Year’s Resolutions? What if we surrendered our year to God and asked Him what He’s wanting to do in our life this year? What would this year look like if we aligned our lives with God’s desires for us?

What is the secret to living the Christian life? Is it about trying harder, being more committed, or becoming more disciplined? None of those things will lead to the life that Jesus promised us — a life of genuine freedom, holiness, and joy. That life can only be found by learning to abide in Jesus.

Sooner or later, everyone will wrestle with disappointment with God. But how you handle that disappointment can be the make or break of your relationship with Him. With the story of Lazarus, Martha and Mary overcome their profound disappointment and choose to trust Jesus, paving the way for one of the most dramatic miracles in the Bible.

There are many doors that we can walk through to try and get to God, but only one will actually lead to him, all others lead to destruction.

Jesus used the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep to illustrate His relationship with His followers. Jesus highlighted the shepherd’s deep connection with his flock and his willingness to sacrifice himself for their wellbeing as an everyday illustration of His love and willingness to sacrifice Himself on the cross.
