There are three aspects of sanctification for the believer. You could also say there are three tenses- past, present and future. If you are saved, then you are sanctified. It has been accomplished by God -past-. You are awaiting future and final sanctification when your body will be removed from this world and glorified and your old nature will be eradicated-future-. Your earthly life is a process of progressive sanctification -present-. God is making you more and more like His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. You will fight with the world, the flesh and the devil for the remainder of your days. You will not reach sinless perfection in this life. Those who say they have are dishonest with themselves and others -1 John 1-8-.

Comfort is an imparted grace that flows from God, thru us, to others. It is effectual for those who endure with God in their sufferings. Don't pull away from God when the trials come, and don't pull back from the assembly of the saints.
