The children of Israel were free from Egyptian bondage, they -went out with a high hand,- but they were not free from trouble. The same is true of a believer today. We are free, free indeed- But free from what- The reality is, Jesus did not come necessarliy to improve our lives, he came to save us from our sins. If you were saved as a young person, then your most difficult days are ahead of you. Jesus told us to expect to be hated of all men for his names sake. Many are persecuted today just as Jesus said it would happen. It all has eternal meaning for us and God is glorified when we trust him through our troubles.
