Our K-5th Grade Children’s Choirs presented the musical “Storms” by Mark Burrows on Sunday, April 19 at the 9:35 & 11:00 a.m. services in the CLC Gym. They reminded us that no matter what storms come our way, we are loved and never alone!

On Palm Sunday our Chancel Choir and Chamber Orchestra present the cantata "Once Upon a Tree" by Pepper Choplin at 8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Traditional Services. This work is the sequel to the Christmas Cantata and continues Luke's account of the final earthly days of Jesus Christ before his death and resurrection. Recording is from 11 a.m. service.*

Bishop Connie Shelton - This message joyfully called us to live out the humility of Christ in Philippians 2:1–8, especially during this Lenten season, by releasing control and embracing the freedom found in trusting God. Drawing on the “let them” perspective from Mel Robbins, we are invited to let go of striving and comparison so we can fully reflect Jesus’ selfless love. It’s a powerful reminder that true joy and unity grow when we surrender our will and walk in Christlike humility together.

Pastor Daeho Kang -  Just when we think we have it all figured out–the right job, the right routine, the right way of doing things–Jesus comes in and upends our certainty, always moving us into deeper truth, justice, and relationship.

Pastor Laura Katherine Stern - We can work for weeks, months, even years to arrive at a certain point in life, our own “Promised Land.” But sometimes the Promised Land is not what we envisioned. Sometimes we don’t even make it there. And even when we do, the Promised Land is not the end of the journey. How can we let God reshape our vision of both the destination and the journey so that we can find beauty and meaning in all of it?

Pastor Laura Katherine Stern - Like the Israelites who were freed from Egypt only to find themselves without drinkable water, we too can find ourselves freed from one trouble only to be met with another. God invites us to shift perspective and find our freedom in relationship with God.
